DuNeKilla1
I need to know if there is a way to tell the difference between a HotRods 4mmstroke 5mm longrod, and just the longrod crank, and what if any case mods need to be done in order to run the one of the two? Thanks
jbooker82
No case mods to run ethire. I am not for sure how you tell the difference between a long rod stock stroke and the long rod 4mill stroke.
lowriderb
with stock jugs and no spacer plate the 4mm should have the pistons coming to a positive deck height..
dajogejr
No case mods at all, drop in crank at 4mil. Larger than that, the cases have to be trenched. A longer rod will require different pistons, 795 or stroker series pistons. A longer STROKE will require a spacer plate or the head/domes to be cut since the pistons will be run up into the head... AND....porting and port timings should be matched for the longer stroke, as well....

If its a longrod 4 mill. The rods will be longer than stock. Long rods are better as I'm sure you know but they require a special piston that has the wrist pin higher in the piston to make up for it. FireHead
You don't necesarily need the 795 pistons to run a stroker or long rod setup or even both at the same time. The long rods should measure 120mm center to center as opposed to 115mm (I may have that messed where as it is 115mm compare to stock at 110mm). As for crank stroke, unless you have a way to measure the crank between centers, you had better hope that the crank has markings onit that indicate what it is, otherwise it may be tough to do.
fastbanshee8
Stock rods are 110mm, and the long rods are 115mm.
