ok i just came off the lake in white lake mich, hear is my ? i am running 96 ice picks in each tire the motor has been bored 10 over prolite pistons 30mm carbs bosen carbin fiber reeds vitos clutch all 5 springs fmf gnarly pipes and k&n filters and gearing 13 in front 41 in back and lowered it all the way around that is my set up so far ok if i take off in frist it lunches hard to hard so i tried 2nd gear and it just falls flat i had to put it back in 1st hmmmmm not sure on this one any idea's out there would help thanks

well i just rebuilt the top end not to long ago i re jetted the motor top and bottom look good as far color of the plug this what i thought i should be able to pull a 13 tooth off the start like i said 1st gear is just too much 2nd not e-nuff if i start in first it runs good all the way thru 660 mark :banghead:

Hey man, I was out there this weekend too. Yea, somethin must not be right, I launch in 2nd gear with a 15T front sprocket no problem. I have to feather it a little to keep the front end down, but thats it! Check the Video section, i posted a couple passes of me and my buddy racing.

With 96 picks, your bike isn't spinning at ALL.

You should be able to launch in second with 13tooth front, however, dumping the clutch rather than feeding it out will cause it to bog. Banshees like a to spin a little to get the R's up.

 

96 picks are digging in, period. Learn how to slip out the clutch at a high RPM instead of just dumping it.

True that, you might burn up a clutch too with that many picks. Thats what I did last year in 2 passes. Clutch smoked! Luckily some of my picks ripped out, allowing my tires to spin more, allowing me to slip the clutch less :thumbsup:

well i did some reading in hear and im seeing alot of people from around the area who is running in the mid 200's in mains im going too jet way up in bottom, mid top Im only at 175 mains im thinking im running a tad lean i think that is where my problem is lying i will be out at white lake this sunday hope too see some of you there ill update this monday thanks for the tidbit's guy's what are you guys running for jetting this is my first build for the ice so im kindda learnig on the fly with this one :shoothead:
