LiftdT4R
no i'm just french lol Ohh, that explains it, try babelfish next time, it's a free translation thing. I don't know what you mean by 100 compression ratio, but if the bike is only making 100PSI, you definately need to have that rebuilt, you should be around 125-130PSI. ban-shred
have you said 100 psi is needing a rebuilt?...i was at 105 psi at the BEGINING of the summer....i beated my banshee to HELL all the summer nearly 15 hour per week lol...but could the compression affect top speed?...as long as summer goes i was lossing top speed...not really a BIG loss but perhaps 5-6 km/h...perhaps a was too hard on him
dave95.1
you are probably due for a rebuild. if you are looking for a decent MX pipe after your rebuild I personally use the Trinity Big Bore Pipes. All my motor combo info is in my sig below. I don't think people give the trinity pipes the respect that they deserve and alot of people around here hate trinity for some reason. Their customer service may be a little out of whack but if their product works who cares IMO. I did back to back pipe comparison a long time ago and what we found was that the trinity's made the broadest power out of all we tested but just barely above the LRD Adjustables. the FMF's were close and surpisingly the Procircuits were a decent pipe as well. The Dynoport was the worst and the Toomey's fell short of our expectations. So after all of our testing my choices were the Trinity's then the LRD's, the only reason I went the the trinity's over the LRD's is the maintenance of the LRD's is quite intensive. Too hard to keep sealed up. Now we did not have access to the CPI's at this time but I cannot imagine them being much better, plus the CPI's are known for their drag racing. So if it were me I would spend the money and use the Trinity's for MX and Trails. I'm just curious, did you compare a set of pt mids when you did this? I'd be interested to see how they compared. I haven't run any of the other pipes, but I was pretty happy with the mids when I ran them.
NY350twin
I've riddin alot of pipes fmf, toomey, dmc and I would have to go with the paul turner mids. hands down the best all round power.

PT-mids are good pipes its just that they have HORRIBLE top end.But there low-end pipes.A little bit overpriced IMO.

Definately time for a re-build, personally I rebuild at 110 or 115PSI, I never let them go that far. You should notice an incrase in power after the rebuild, but it's definately time. Sadly I think the only way you will know what you will like is if you get out there and try them. I had to ride damn near every trail pipe under the sun before I settled on 1, and I actually have FMFs on one bike, and PT Mids on my other. I like both actually. Trick2stroke
I'll agree, the PT mids are an awesome all around pipe but they really do have horrible top end and are pretty pricey. The mids put my fatties to shame everywhere but top end.
Banchetta
You must be running the same gearing on the mids as the fatties then....I run a 16/42 gear on the mids, w/ just 160psi compression....the fatties can't pull that gearing w/o dropping out of powerband all the time. A 15/41 gear is pretty good for the fatties.....The ptr will pull a taller gear and still pull harder on the bottom and will make up for it on top and will = out on top speed...I used to race my buddy w/ fatties. I'd smoke him off the line and he could never catch up, even on top...w/ the gears that I've mentioned.

I ran a 15/39 with my Mids and a 15/41 with my Fatties. I think the Toomeys would be more preferred on a mx track. I'd like at two things. First, the compression. Did I read that it had 100 lbs, even 105, put some new rings in that thing and be sure to check the bore size that it's still in spec. It will hurt performance but worse, as it wears, it moves more in the cylinder and can eventually break something if you let it go. No reason not to throw some new rings on it. If you want more power, mill the head while it's off and bump it up to 140 / 150 and call it good. Secondly, if your wanting more power than that, it's time to look at porting the cylinders which is also something that can be done while they're off for the new rings. Do those three things 1. Rings, 2. Mill head and 3. Port the cylinder and you'll have more power than you thought you could. keep the toomeys.
