Washburn
Do you guys partcularly you woods/racer guys that have the shift star mod have any problems with it shifting up a gear? It seems like a smooth gear and a cheap buy but Im curious if its to smooth? when your racing in tight stuff does it ever skip a gear? Did any of you replace the spring and bearing? Ive bent shifters and shift shafts racing my LT250R from shifting to hard. I bent the shift shaft when I was racing it. This was a while I did this untill I got new breaks so I relyed on the gears to slow down.
bansheeseat$$
I make my own and play around alittle with ramp angles on the shift stars "shift segment" for different styles of peoples riding style. It is imposable to skip a gear.If you get one you will say to yourself wow why didn't I do this sooner? If you want I can do one for you. charles_in_houston
Well mine is smooth for sure but I have both the shift star mod and the shift pro kit. I find that when I get into the rough stuff and my left foot "floats" near the shifter, it tends to bump shift it. Smooth is an understatement for mine. It's too smooth. You really can't feel it at all. I've been contemplating removing one or the other. You can find neutral easy with the bike running but I've jumped off and been supprised when the bike went back into gear. I'm not sure I tapped it or if the wind from my dismount blew it into gear. ......get the idea?

I tend to shift pretty hard and sometimes I do unintentional rest my foot on the shifter so the already cut ones dont seem to be for me. I like to feel the shift. I might get bansheeseat$$$ to cut my stock one so its not as round as cascades or duncans and try that out. If I dont like it Ill just trade for another stock one. differentstrokes
Bansheeseat$$ did mine and I ride the same kind of stuff, no problems here. I've heard that you should do either the star or shift pro kit, but not both and now I see why. I say let Kai do yours, you'll like it. 400rednEX
i did the easy shift spring from fast only and am happy with it. adjusting the shift shaft to center also made it a lot easier.

I was told that just with the star no bumping, but if you mod the shift shaft with the star that could happen
