SmokinBanshee96 Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I have yfz 450 shocks and I have been looking at the asr sprot star plus arms and the pro star arms, and also the full flight arms. Thet all look like a good arm, but i don't know which is the best for the price. I also don't really get the diff. in the sport star plus's and the pro stars's( for 50 bucks there is something). so any of you who know a little about these arms or those of you who have 'em chime in and let me know what you think...(also i understand that the heims are better but how often do they need replaced, and how much do they run?) yamaha04 Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 (edited) I have yfz 450 shocks and I have been looking at the asr sprot star plus arms and the pro star arms, and also the full flight arms. Thet all look like a good arm, but i don't know which is the best for the price. I also don't really get the diff. in the sport star plus's and the pro stars's( for 50 bucks there is something). so any of you who know a little about these arms or those of you who have 'em chime in and let me know what you think...(also i understand that the heims are better but how often do they need replaced, and how much do they run?) well i just got the sport stars and they are pretty good looking. you can go to the imagine section and look for my post i have some pics of them on. the difference is the PRO starts have chromaly Steel with is stronger, and the SPORT stars have dom steel. either way they are both stronger then stock. i have read a few things on here about both bands full flight and ASR some pople say they are good some say they are junk but i have heard more band about the full flights. i have Pms a bunch of guys that have the ASR and no one has had any problems with them. one problem i had was the coating one the arms was really thin so i need to get them PC'ed. oh yeah im not to sure if your YFZ shocks will fit the arms the yfz shocks are fatter so they might rub on the back side of the upper arm. i will check where the location of the schok would be on the stock arms and see how much room there is there. so if there is more room with the ARS's then im sure you could run the shocks. i know pople use YFZ's with stock arms Edited February 9, 2007 by yamaha04 Quote
differentstrokes Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 I've got the PSP arms and the difference is the adjustability too, camber and caster can be changed pretty easy. Quote
Washburn Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 I dont know much about either arm but the ASR look better to me mabey more solid? The Hemis shouldnt need replaced if you have zirks and keep all of the mud and debris out. I definatly recomend the Chromoly ones. You need chromoly if you beat on your arms they are very strong. You usualy have to replace the bushings every year if you are racing twice a year unless you take them apart and clean them real good after every few races then they should last a while longer. Quote
kaotik1 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Sport vs pro. The sports as far as I know. are only 8 point adjustments, where as the pros are 12. Full flight are 12 point as well. I have a set of pro's and they are really nice. Some of the welds could have been a touch bit better, and the coating was real thin. I got mine back yesterday from being re-coated. The heim joints are nice you just have to keep them clean, and you should be good to go. Stock shocks will work.... I would upgrade being that the extra leverage will make them feel a bunch softer. YFZ shocks may be the cheap answer, but I don't know for sure. Quote
SmokinBanshee96 Posted February 12, 2007 Author Report Posted February 12, 2007 will the asr +2 +1 arms work with the yfz 450 shocks? Quote
kaotik1 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 They should they are ment ot run with stock shocks. The YFZ is just an upgrade over stock. Quote
