RB Racing Port Work

RB rebuilt my Tri-Z motor.....he's knowledgable, fast, and a VERY nice guy. You'll be hard pressed to find someone saying anything negative about RB. I have a feeling he's going to be doing more and more people's work! I hope to get my Banshee in to him later this year.

I concuur!! Man, Im sick of hearing all of the big guilder battles on here back and forth, back and forth. Thats why I started a thread that shows a solid builder that takes time for each individual customer. Its not about quantity, its about quailty. He may not be a one-stop shop for all your need like some others, but the price and serice just cant be beat!! Cheers!

You guys all know I'm friends with Jeff at FAST....so, take that as you may.

 

However....I've personally ridden a bike dune ported by him and it sure was fun. (The young man had a Hush kit on it though, kinda ruined it for me...LOL )

 

For those of you that don't know, machwon is his handle here on HQ. I've talked to Bob a few times back and forth on PM.

He actually bought my stock virgin bore cylinders and crank last year, quick payment, I sent him my crank based on trust (told him to look it over, if he didn't want it, send it back) and he PROMPTLY paid me for the crank the day he received it and looked it over.

 

I've been working with Jeff since early last year, I am 100% contempt with him and his service...

 

That being said...if I was looking again for a builder/supplier, I would give Bob @ R&B a shot. Nice guy, local to mid-Michigan area...and just a real nice guy overall with good pricing.

 

Some of you may remember seeing some posts or replies by me, Bob has an inexpensive leak down test kit he sells on ebay and probably will through these forums if you call him.

 

You could probably save 10 or 20 bucks building your own...but, you'd have to drive around, hunt down parts, put it together, etc.

So...for convenience....he has a leak down test kit available that is hard to beat....

 

I give him the big ol :thumbsup: :thumbsup: myself....

Yea, I cant wait to get some parts from Jeff @ FAST, all I hear is awesome things! I just need to figure out where im going with my setup!

Shit All I wanted my builder to do for me was a nice port job.Then he told me to get shearers.I show up to the shop to drop em off and he told me to go with a +4 stroker,Then when I went to take pictures of my bike I fucked up because I went into his little office and walked out with a 10mm cub, :banghead: .SHIT I HATE OWNING A BANSHEE :shoothead: :banghead: .I fucked up by walking into that little office full off strokers and cylinders and little pretty cubs.

Well Since this guy did a great job for me, I figured id post up what he has on his website. This guy does awesome work for a hell of a price. Anyway, heres some numbers to throw around....

Hello all, I finally got the dyno up and running yesterday with a chance to try out the new Hoosier slicks on Yamaha rims. I tested my 358cc (.040 over) Yamaha Banshee using in-frame pipes, V-force reeds, 34mm PJ carbs on gas, stock cut head for race gas, and my full drag porting on stock cylinders.

 

Although the clutch was slipping we still managed to get 81.3 HP at the rear wheels. With a new clutch next week I think this motor will hit around 85 HP for sure!

Complete Banshee motor rebuilding. Includes new brand new complete crank, new main bearings, all new seals, new gaskets, new Wiseco Pro-lite pistons/rings, new piston pin bearings, fresh bore & hone, disassembly and reassembly labor for only $825.00

 

Lighten Flywheel $50

 

Mill and rechamber stock head $65

 

Case porting $50

 

Modify stator for timing advance $20

 

Port stock reed cages $40

 

Mill stock head $45

BASIC CLEANUP PORT $50 per cylinder

This porting will clean up all casting flaws and include porting of the intake and exhaust ports. This porting is an economical way to get good results for any type of riding.

 

MX/TRAIL PORT ($125 singles, $175 banshee's)

This porting will get you more than a seat of the pants power increase. Port heights, widths for all ports are modified and transfer inlet angles are all properly set for excellent low end and midrange power.

AGRESSIVE/DUNE PORT ($125 singles, $175 banshee's)

This porting will get you the absolute maximum power increase while still maintaining complete reliability and only a slight upward shift in the powerband. This is the most popular and best value porting we have. Complete alteration of all porting heights, widths, tranfer inlet and outlet angles are set-up using computer design software. Suggested for motors with pipes, reed mods and head work. Dollar for dollar you won't find a better port.

 

DRAG/FULL PORT ($200 singles, $325 banshee's)

Port widths and heights are maximized for peak power performance. Most cylinders will have additional intake ports, and/or boost ports added. Quads will require good pipe, head work, timing advance.
