SmokinBanshee96 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 i have a worn out stock clutch basket that im gettign ready to replace. i really don't want to buy a new stock one unless that is the best buy. i have researched the hinson, the wiseco, and the boss baskets. there is also some off brand billet one on ebay. what do you gusy think would be the best for the price? i don't need to go all out right now, and im not running a 10mil chettah, my engine is just .040 over with a few mods, i jsut want to get soem opinions before i drop a couple bills on a basket that sucks.(also can i take the gear of mine and bolt it to they new one i buy?) When it gets grooved you just replace the stainless steel inserts. I would imagine that the stainless steel would wear better than aluminum. There is a guy selling them out of colorado on ebay for 204 and free shipping. MDS2106 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) I run a moose clutch basket and haven't had any trouble.Yes you will use the gear off of your stock basket.I think any billet basket you buy will be better than a stocker. J-Madd Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 I bought a billett one from magic racing a couple years ago (SRP Metals, I'm pretty sure) and it has held up great. To this day, there are no grooves of any kind on it. And yeah you have to use your stock gear. Just cut the rivets out of the stock basket to remove the gear, then bolt it to the new basket WITH LOCKTITE, and you're good to go. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
