SmokinBanshee96 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 I was thinking about buying a case saver, locking nut for my axle, and an inline cooler for my banshee. I was wanting to get some of your all's opinions. I know the case saver saved my buddies case on his 450r, but what about the banshee, do the chains break? and if so is the case saver worth it?.. also i was thinking of gettign a modquad locking axle nut? worth the price, or should i just keep the stocks? also. i have a temp quage on my banshee, and it does real good but sometimes in real hot days it gets pretty warm during trail rides, and when i ride it hard.. will an inline cooler help any? and for those of you who have temp guages what is a good running temp? and what temp is too hot? thanks guys Dustin Quote
seabass Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Case saver is a MUST in my opinion! Check out KD Cycles, cheapest place I found. The axle nut is nice also but a little lock-tite works nicely. Quote
Dmcbanshee Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 A case saver are a great add for the shee, I recommend it for sure. Inline cooler is pretty good I have one, I see a small difference not big , but its better than nothing... Quote
FireHead Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 The case saver is a must have. The lock nut is nice, but not necessary if you use loctite on the OEM nuts. The inline coolers are pretty silly in my opinion. Other people will chime and say that they lowered their operating temperature, but from an engineering and physics standpoint, they just do not have enough surface area to do any appreciable cooling. Your money would be better off being spent on something usefule like a billet water pump impeller. Quote
scooter Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 for cooling id get a noss head and a billet water pump impeller.i havent had any problems with the stock axle nuts after i used a little lock tight on them. i dont have a case saver yet but they seem like cheap insurance Quote
smokin 2 stroke Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 case save is a must have i learned the hard way Quote

Bansh-eman Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 your motor is going to run at the same operating temp with a cool head or a stock head... only thing that will make it run cooler is a biger radiator and a cooling agent like water wetter or engine ice... the cool head is great for switching domes and providing better flow for your coolant but its still going to run at the same temp. csrmel Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 locking nuts are not nessassary on a stock axle. just take youre stock axle and adjust the nuts to factory spec, tighten down the second one against the first and wrap ELECTRICAL tape around the 2 nuts and then a good inch of the axle. the electrical tape keeps them from vibrating and losening up. when i got my banshee new the stock axle nuts loosen up on me within a week. i did the electrical tape trick and its been almost a year now and they are still set properly. ClimbAnyHill Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 I've heard alot of stories of cracked cases from a chain & many stories where the case saver did it's thing and saved the case. I'm not waiting to learn the hard way, I bought one myself. Quote
