Just went to rockymountainatv and did a list of parts for my next order and the total came to $1500!! I might have to split that order up. Ha Ha!

 

Whats the total for your wishlist of parts?

It sounds like you just need to make more money (j/k).

 

It's hard to put a real dollar value on wish list since I am making most of the parts for my triple. I think it's going to wind up being around $2500 in cash, but who knows if you were to count my time and my company's machines and tools. I just about pooed myself last month when I ordered the stock for my cases and cylinders. Additonally, I am not sure what the heat treatment and nitriding is going to cost for my crankshaft and transmission, so that might kick up the price a bit if I can't get the parts run through for free with someone else's batch of stuff.

Uhhh right now...the short list is about two grand, but I just shelled out $650 for six tires and two sets of YFZ a-arms...if I tallied up everything I wanted for mine & my son's Banshees it would easily exceed $20,000 (laeger frames, LT suspension, Cheetah pv's, etc. etc.). I reall wish I could fab my own frames and arms...that'd bring it down to $19,998 LOL!!!

Are we talking trucks or quad? Truck wish list is going on 6g's strong.....

 

Only 6g's for your truck. Shit mines at like 30 plus as far as the wish list goes...equal lenght i-beams and steering up front...kings all the way around...three-link rear...currie ford 9in...302 v8... C6 trans...caged front to rear...only leave the stock frame under the cab...full fiberglass body. I hope I can find a really good job when i'm done with school.

 

An dmy shee is prolly right up there by 20g's too. Sundahl frame...little bit more motor...ect ect.

Sorry, my list was just misc. nick-nack parts I am GOING to order. Shouldn't have really called it a wishlist. My actual wish-list for my new 06 banshee is up around 8k in aftermarket stuff right now. I'm also building a triple and I've got over 4k in it right now with mattoon cases and transmission. Already had cylinders, crank, reeds, intakes, carbs, head, eletrical from a snowmobile, so just building the bottom end and working on a chassis to hold the beast. Pipes are going to kick my wallets ass as well.

What are you planning on doing for pipes? I was thinking of trying to keep it all in the frame, but that means a really special canter pipe that would go over the top of the motor. It has finally sunk in that this motor is not going to make it in my red bike, so it will all depend on what sort of hillshooter frame I wind up buying. :banghead:

 

Like I said, I am making much of the engine myself, hence the low dollar total. Of course, I am not making the stuff that doesn't make sense to make like pistons, power valves, reed valves, clutch basket, intake boots, kick starter, etc.

My plan as of right now is to get a set of high performance pipes from one of the snowmobile companies that are made for the particular sled that I yanked the engine from. I will worry about how to get them from the cylinders and out of the frame once I have them. I can mod the frame however I need... It will probably end up out-of-frame just for simplicity.

Are you doing a Crankenstein motor then, or is it Banshee cylinder based?
