tonyown Posted February 3, 2007 Report Share Posted February 3, 2007 Hi all Today I installed my vforce3, timing plate and changed my dome and I have some question... 1: For vforce I had to cut some rubber on the intake something special or just cut all what is over? its what I did 2: Is there anyway to torque the fly wheel without the tool to keep it in place? I just torqued it with impact gun 3: The engine idle slow I didnt look at anything... cuz last time I did plug chop I stripped the thread in the right dome I suppose its because I torqued it too much when the engine was hot is it possible? I dont want to buy a 3rd set of dome at 150cnd lol We have aprox 1 feet of snow at this time and I tryed my 4snow it works great :biggrin: Thank you for any answer Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

woodro77 Posted February 3, 2007 Report Share Posted February 3, 2007 #3 question is how do you torque your spark plug when the head is hot? for the plug chop test for jetting... and do you think that my slow idle problem cloud be jetting or it can depend on any mod?How did u know the flywheel nut came loose? i knew it came loose because it died in the middle of the woods at 12;00 at night , pitch black, stayed with my shee while a friend went and got my truck , i was scared shitless two deer ran right by me and i pissed myself . i got it home and kicked it and heard a noise on the flywheel side and found out it came loose. as for the spark plugs i just tighten them by hand then go about 1/2 a turn or so with a wrench , "slow idle "? does that mean it doesnt idle at all? what do you mean by slow idle ? 2003LimitedBanshee Posted February 3, 2007 Report Share Posted February 3, 2007 In regards to the flywheel, I wouldn't use the impact gun if it was me, but I know a lot of people do. It is definitely not a technical tool in the least. I bought the Motion Pro Clutch tool which has dowls for holding the flywheel while it is being torqued. As far as tightening the spark plugs I have an adjustable angle Snap-On ratchet that I use. Torque on the spark plugs is "about that" as we say. Basically once you've done enough spark plugs you can just feel when it is right. I've honestly only torqued spark plugs on one car, our blown '67 Nova, since you can never be too specific. But for everything else it gets the mental torque setting, but it has never failed me before. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Animalman294 Posted February 3, 2007 Report Share Posted February 3, 2007 Yeah, my flywheel was tightened by hand with a rachet and never had any problems, and as far as the spark plugs I have never even heard of anyone using a torque wrench on them. I do just like what was stated above tighten with fingers then a little snugging with a socket, just remember they are aluminum and won't take much abuse...........
