tonyown
I just ordered vf3 I'm gonna add my timing plate set to +4 and run 50/50 91/110 octane fuel should I change de jetting for the vforces or do I have to do anything with the air screw? These screw scare me I never touched them and it looks hard to set what's your opinion? thank you

locogato11283
id run your bike and check the plugs and see if you need to adjust anything. provided you arent already really lean.
LiftdT4R
i dont have to change your jetting when you put on v-force reeds, You shouldnt have to change your jetting with the timing advance or reeds. SOmetimes, but not often the timing advance likes a little fatter main, the bike will run a little hotter, and wants a little more fuel. I've never had it happen to me, but I've heard about it. Animalman294
You should check your plugs regularly anyway.....................
dajogejr
All reeds do is richen up the middle. You may have to lean out the needle clip one spot...but, run 'em first. Also, you're wasting your money on race fuel/pump fuel in my opinion. +4 and 21cc domes don't warrant the need for race fuel. Do a compression check, to be sure...but, I'd be surprised if you were above 140 to 145PSI...
tonyown
Okay thanks guy I'll keep an eye on the plugs for sure temperature vary a lot here... for example last week I worked outside at -23 and at the end of the day it was at 24  I just wanted to know if my pilot and the rest of stock jet should be good... thank you guys! dajogejr
Tony... I seriously hope you're not running stock jetting with those mods and those temps. What jetting are you currently running, and do you have any more mods to that bike other than what is in your sig, the VForce and the timing mod? tonyown
I just changed the main... I run 300main right now cuz its cold outside... last summer I ran 270main... I was talking about all other jets... they are all stock dajogejr is there anyway to look for detonation safely?
dajogejr
Well..not really... There are two ways... Normally...you listen very careful for it. It sounds like someone put steel ball bearings in your cylinders. You can't always hear it, though... If you are running an air box with a lid, you're safe on the mains. If you're not running a lid...you SHOULD be ok...but not certain. In that cold of temps, you'll probably have to richen up the needle and the pilot. Put the needle clip one down, towards the pointy end. Put a 27.5 pilot it...if you're running no lid. Just my .02. Check the piston often, and if it's white you're lean. However....once the motor starts to detonate, it won't detonate long before it starts coming apart...if the spark plug looks like someone sprayed it with aluminum paint, it's usually too late. So...careful ear and checking plugs very, very often is your best defense... If it feels like it's reving like a 125 dirt bike, just not going anywhere, you're normally LEAN... tonyown
Ok I was going to put the lid back soon on the box... thank you
Banchetta
All reeds do is richen up the middle. You may have to lean out the needle clip one spot...but, run 'em first. He pretty much hit it on the nose....The reed will richen the mid section, so if your jetting was spot on before then you'll have to lower the needles one clip. Throw them in and try it out. Your pretty cold over there now, so they will only help..I agree w/ the race fuel, you don't need it. As for detonation, look for shiny aluminum specs along the outside ring on the plugs. That would be the aluminum off the pistons.
