maxx_it_out
like the title says, what are the misconceptions people talk about when they think of a banshee ????
theshee
First time I ever went duning.. my buddy was riding a raptor 660, we met up with BigRed and my friend thought well its only a 350 so I can beat it... yeah.. didnt happen. Lots of people take the displacement and think thats its too small to compete with the Raptor 700 and larger displacement ATVs. That is the most common misconception Ive heard of. scooter
i would say that there unreliable most people that dont have them think they break down all the time and you have to rebuild them every year. not true if you take care of them they will go a long time and much cheaper to rebuild than a four stroke
locogato11283
id say the biggest misconception is that they dont get you laid. well thats not true cuz ive fucked 5 hot bitches just because they wanted to feel the banshee vibrate. once they got on, they didnt wanna get off... or maybe that you have to do a lot of maintenance or something.
Hollister_Hitman
they can't be used for a trail bike or mx :yelrotflmao:

Everytime I tell someone thewy ride a banshee they proceed to tell me that those are only for drag racing. So I say, "allrigth lets go riding after school, meet ya at the top of ann rd." They show with thier YFZ450 that mommy&daddy bought and tricked for em and then they ask me how I just managed to blow by them in the whoops. I always respond with it's either you or banshee's are just for drasg racing.
yamaha04
one guy was on an old beat up 400ex and was like hey dude hows it feel to know your rideing a ticking time bomb. i though that was pretty funny. why do people think 2 strokes blow up so often? bada450r
i honestly think all misconceptions come from people that are not really dedicated to the sport, its ignorance.i mean a banshee is so easy to work on,that sometimes we,or i forget that we,or i have to take my time, and be paciente with whatever it is iam working on,its also very easy to fuck something up.the biggest misconception ive run into is that there not reliable, but shit when you think about it how many of us are just running pipes, and filters,i say 1 out of 100 banshees, its not really expensive to mod a banshee, but sometimes i think people want to take all the short cuts posible[putting used gaskets back, etc]anyway, what iam trying to say is,50 out of 100 4 strokes have only pipe, and filter,so ofcourse their going to be more reliable........bullshit gets spread by backyard machachics, and joes that dont know or dont care to learn that is a kind of art working on a banshee,to me its a pleasure..............my 2 cents. :: ::
Animalman294
Yeah, I hear that they are not reliable.....................
BansheeRider71
I have heard the reliable one over and over, but lately its that 4-strokes are cheaper to build and that banshees are really expensive to fix up, as a YFZ owner and soon to be banshee owner, i'm trading off my 450 to get a new banshee, my friends are telling me all of these but my mind is set on a shee. Tell your friends to leave their bongs at home when they go riding. There is no way in hell that it's cheaper to build a 4 poke.
BigRed350x
I split the cases on "theshee's" banshee in 2 hours. They aren't hard to work on. My last top end took me under an hour to put in after I had gas tank and plastics off. I'd say the one I hear the most is tha they break down all the time. I get some prety good hours out of top ends, and shit its only $100 and a an hour or two to put it in. They aren't that hard to work on once you've done a few. yamaha04
you have got to love how the banshee fires right up on a hot day and a couple hours riding on it. lol cant say the same abotu thowes 4 pokes. i dont know how many times iv seen thowes things not want to fire and nearly kill the riders ankle once he does egt it fired. maybe im worng and the new 4 stroke are different with there hot start feature but i know alot of the older modles are a bitch
06BaNsHeE
Down here All I here is that there not reliable and suck for trails. And today I was taking off my cpis and some guy on a raptor 700r thought that my banshee was 700cc because it has two cylinders.lol I Edited January 29, 2007 by 06BaNsHeE
ImTired
now, im sure we all know where the reliability thing got started.... how many of YOUR friends come over in the middle of a tweaking session and don't stay long enough to care about how much better it runs when your done? take apart a 4 stroke and count on it starting and running as planned...... timing chains..... hah! valves..... pbffft...... tune your carbs up and the thing screams every time
