I have never ridden a Banshee in the sand, so what is the best way to distribute one's weight while riding through whoops, small jumps, and the starting line up Comp? More over the rear?

Is there a technique for bowl riding? Some ettiquette I should know about, but surely don't?

Feel free to acclelerate my learning curve. :thanks:

BTW: Heading to Glamis over Presidents...17, 18, 19...we should try to get a group meet!!

Thanks, Jay from SanD.

the best way to ride your shee on dunes is at WOT ( Wide Open Throttle). You'r body will find its place on the seat..... once you go sand you don't go back.

get out there and you'll see why the banshee's were made for sand!

I owned a RZ350 for a decade +...I am looking forward to the rush!!

I was mostly wondering if you slide forward to weight the front wheel in turns or slide to the back to lighten it...

Just watch how you crest large razorbacks. There's a technique for it, but I can't really explain it. You will figure it out after you cross a couple of them. Lean one way, then the other, etc. As for cornering, do it just like you would on dirt. Your front tires will tend to grab a little more than normal dirt tires would, so just don't go ripping the bars to one side and expect the thing not to jerk on ya. Just keep your wheelspin up and have fun!

Comp Hill is shitty. No one realy goes there anymore. More broken glass than riders.

Lean forward to start only as much as you need to not loop it. The whoops are easier the faster you go. Get to 3rd or 4th before the start of the whoops. Get your ass on the back of the seat and blast over them. You might want to try and grab 5th gear towards the top but 9 times out of 10, bad idea. You'll bog out.

Guys coming UP hill have right of way. Be on the look out coming down a hill.

If you need to turn around mid-hill, be damn sure whats on its way up. You don't want to turn into an oncoming 2,000lb rail!

In the dunes? Stay in Line! If you're new, you shouldn't be leading any rides. Let someone more experienced lead. Follow your leader and occasionally check on the guy behind you.

Headlights at dusk is always nice especially in dusty conditions. If you're riding out of the sun, you might not be seen by an oncoming rider.

In a bowl? Try not to ride straight down and up it. Sometimes the bottom is a sharp angle and it will fuck you up.

If your not sure about a steep transition, pass on it. You can always loop around for another try.

If you find yourself seperated from the group, try and get to the top of the nearest dune and wait. Kind like hugging a tree in the forest. Let your group find you.

If you see someone who needs help, help them! It might be you next time that is in trouble.

Clean your campsite! Take out more than you brought in.

Don't burn pallets. There's like 300 nails in every pallet.

USE COMMON SENSE OUT THERE. have fun.

Don't sit thru the whoops or you might get bucked off!

Just kinda hover over the seat, kinda in between sitting & standing.

Don't stop in a position where you'll get stuck. Turn it around if you feel you're not going to make the climb.

Bring along a small set of tools etc... Everyone in your group should pack some tools & make sure each packs different ones
