As to if the wires should be connected or disconnected to run... In my past experience with a 2 stroke outboard boat motor the switch to kill the motor was a grounded switch. Meaning if the switch were to be disconnected (open circuit) the motor would continue running however when the switch was connected and turned to the off position the electrical spark was grounded therefore killing the motor. Don't know if this applies with the blaster/banshee just thought I would share.

Same way our evinrude is, took me a while to figure it out also... lol.

The reason why it works like that is because they use a magneto ignition, so therefore the banshee should work the same way? Can anyone back this up?

the ground to the kill switch makes the spark ground out and kill the bike yes... ex to see if you have like a cr 250 style kill switch... but with the key... its a normal open and closed circut... if you unplug the two caps and leave it like that it should not start... thats why on a banshee you clip the two wires on the bottom half of the plug and splice them together to complete the circut... now the kill switch is a totally differant part that goes into your cdi and grounds it out killing the bike...thats a whole different topic..
