adrenaline junky
If i was going to get a 4 mil stroker, would that mean that my bike would have a lot more low end? I want my bike to be a top end bike. Could somebody tell me what reeds i should get between v-force ddelta 2's, or duncan racing pyramid rad valves. Bansh-eman
adding a 4mil crank you can get either... its more of gearing then the crank... over all a 4mil will give you about 7% more overall power... if you want it to be topend then gear it and get top end pipes... throw some bigger carbs on, when you say topend.. are you talking about drag style or what? adrenaline junky
kind of, i just love that feeling of adrenaline when you hit the throtlle and the bike is pulling away. But if i get some bigger carbs wont i need a porting job?
Bansh-eman
it wouldnt hurt that for sure.. if your going topend then it woudld be wise... if you dont want to port it then you can look at some 28 pwk and get the benifit of better throttle response from a better designed carb.... Bansh-eman
oh i forgot this earlyer... either way you go your going to have to port you jugs for the 4mil... so you might as well get a dune port or what ever the porting type you want for your riding style... you can always do a spacer plate but if your that cheap then theres no point of doing a 4mil to half ass it... and your only going to give your motor another surface to leak from and lean your motor out to blow it... Bansh-eman
the spacer plate gives the motor an extra surface to leak from... you had only one base gasket ... but now you have to run tow.. one on top of the plate and one under it... now you have an extra surface to leak from... not saying it will do it but im not taking chances becasue i want to half ass it... Washburn
what do you mean by spacer plate the guy who built my motor put a spacer plate on my trinity stage 4 with v force 3 reeds nd i haVE 2 33 PWKS just wondering i would hate for it to blow up Its just a chance when you could have had your domes cut (you already have the head and domes) and ran shorter Blaster style pistons or wiesco 795 series to make up for the stroke clearance instead of running a spacer plate witch could or could not leak. It really shouldnt but stranger things happen. Just check it more often.
Lethaface
For reeds, the TDR reeds on ported stock cages is a nice set-up..TDR gives you the option of ordering the reeds for ported or non ported motors..
06BaNsHeE
Ive never tried tdr but I have vf3 and I love them
Lethaface
I'm sure the vforce are better as they use a aftermarket cage but you can't beat the tdr's for the price..

True, The price is rite and they claim more HP but only real condition testing from non biast riders will tell. I have the VF3s and I am buying rite after I make this post actualy some stock cages with Boyesen reeds in them from a member as a very nice package deal. So I will be able to test them both out and post results based on a non ported motor with a head and 20cc domes then a +4 advance. This should be fun. Yamabond, its not the easiest to clean up but it seals gaskets permanently
Bansh-eman
a silicon based gasket isnt the best idea to run under your jugs... if you dont evenly spread it out your taking a chance that the weka spot will blow out and leak once there is some pressure on it... my big thing is people that half ass it to save a little now will end up paying more later... do it right the first time and be done with it
