I'm lookin to buy some caveing equipment. I perty much need everything, ropes, ascenders, decenders, ect.

Also, I've located quite a few caves around here (south east Idaho) but I'm looking for more somewhat close by. I understand that putting cave locations on the internet is a no no but if you know of any, pm me.

Thanks.

i have a head mounted flashlight that i use when i go spelunking in my girlfriends panties. other than that, theres ropes and such, for tying her hands and feet up to stalagmites so she can struggle but not excape. i dont know much else about the riging. just some silk ropes and a head mounted flashlight.

its called spelunking :yelrotflmao: , theres a really cool private cave "big bear?" here in pa. its scary without some1 that has been there before, its easy to get lost. have to watch out for poisonous gas too.

Spelunking is the study and recording of caves. I just want to go caveing as a hobby, for fun. I've heard there are some bad ass caves in PA and lots of them! We just have lava tubes and "The Great Rift" here, not a whole lot to choose from.

The idea is to keep as many people as possible away from the caves. The more people that find them, the better the chances of idiots getting in there and f***ing shit up thats been forming for 1000s of years, spray painting walls, getting hurt, getting killed, ect.

i dont see why it would be any differant then scuba diving... hunders of thousand of ppl scuba dive every year and if they touch a 2000 year old coral reef it kills it almost instantly... but that doesnt stop them from posting great diving spots on the web? i dont know maybe its just a differant mentality...

Yeah, I live in Northern California and have a lot of old mine shafts around. There are some that are 20 feet across at the surface and go straight down for 1200-1800 feet. They were ventilation tubes for air to the hard rock miner's back in the day. You throw rocks down in them and it takes forever and a day to hit the water at the bottom. A lot of them are on private property and are just open, because the land owner knows they are there and doesn't care about sealing them. Some of the entrances were sealed long ago with wooden beams and then dirt pushed in on top of them. Then over the years people loose the openings and build houses over the now hidden holes. Then after 50-60 years the wood rots away and the houses cave in the holes. Lost a few homes and people that way.

The majority of the Empire Mine, Idaho-Maryland Mine and the Northstar Mines are all under water. I personally always wanted to go cave diving..............

sounds like it would be pretty fun to do.. iv never been into rock climbing so getting out would fukin blow but i loved fast roping and scaling walls pat of training... that was good shit... im just kinda weary of my life being suspeneded from a aluminum gadget that is hammered into a giant rock... even though people do it every day and are safe . i guess being on the outside looking it just seems like its not smart :) none the less sounds fun as palyin in a pile of shit then uning through macy's
