jet mech Posted January 11, 2007 Report Share Posted January 11, 2007 is it ok to use a heavier case oil or should I stick with Yamalube4 or 10w30 the weight in ? is a 80w wet clutch approve oil and I have no clue and do not want to trash my new toy one other ? Hilarious Posted January 11, 2007 Report Share Posted January 11, 2007 80 wt is fine. I use 80w maxima MTL in my tranny. The "r" means resistor. That would be too thick. Bel Ray gear saver 80w oil is what I use. It doesnt feel like a 80w oil. It feels thin like ATF. Next time your at your local shop grab a quart of 80w oil that is made for 2 stroke transmissions and shake it. It isnt thick at all.
