yamahaD4L
I've saw a few times that some people have had there stock shee carbs bored. I have a buddy (Sredrum) that is doing YFZ 450 carb boring. He said to check into it and get some info. I have a few Q's about this topic. 1. Does anyone have any how too's out there (pics, posts, step by step)? 2. Any does or donts? 3. How big can I go? 4. Is it a hard modification to do (i have access to equipment and tooling)? 5. How well do they work? I guess to not drag this on with Q's, anyones input would be appreciated. Thanks (not sure if i went about putting this in the forum the right way damn newbies)
BigRed350x
I think you can get the stockers up to like 28mm but not really sure. IMO its not worth jacking around the stockers. They are kinda crappy carbs I think. One of the first things I ditch any time I do a build. Their choke system is crap, especially with that little crossover tube, and they are mikuni. Sorry, but I've never been a fan of mikuni carbs. They don't really have much adjustment to them. Then the bowls have to be entirely removed to change out the main jet, which is really gay. Then if you remove the TORS you have to drill and tap them to get them to idle correctly. JMO. I think you can get them up to like 28mm though. Never done it so I can't really give you any tips or tricks. Sorry. - Jared
jbooker82
Here is how you get your carbs board out to a bigger size. Talk to this guy. www.farmandsandtoys.com Order larger carbs from the guy above. I dont know why people would jack around with the stock carbs. If you want more power then go with larger carbs. Shee-Male
I bored a bunch of them when I worked at the machine shp, cheap mod at the time, I'm always on a budget  . They work not to bad at all, I did a set for BenBB (for free) for his RZ Shee and they worked nicely for him as well. Good uprade over stock, or stepping stone for that matter.
