uvbensmoked
my sister is looking to get into a quad and im not so shure what to get her started on she is gonna be 12 in January. she a fast learner and good at all sports. i started on a lt80 when i was 4. then i got a blaster at her age. i think a blaster would be a good start this way she can learn how to use a clutch and the blaster has the govener to keep her in control. Just asking for your opinons on what you would put a mature 12 year old girl on? thanks.

Washburn
Blasters are pretty good in stock form for a mature 12 year old girl. You can always adjust the throttle screw. She will have to stay in the powerband but they are pretty tame and it doesnt take alot of getting used too. If not a Raptor 350 the 300ex is a good bullet proof bike Too. Ive rode them all and my first choice would be a stock Blaster with better tires. A Banshee would be too much bike.
ClimbAnyHill
Blaster would be perfect
nunyabinness
i agree a blaster is a great starter quad. in stock form they are great for a beginner and it can grow with the rider. yes it is possible to out grow a blaster but more in size than in go. plus it's a 2 stroke. bansheeseat$$
Blaster would be a good choice. For my 12 year old daughter I bought her a 660 raptor. Now before you guys say wtf she is 5'10" at 12 years old so a blaster was already going to be small for her.The raptor also has a limiter on the throtle so that was not a issue. brian
I started my 12 y/o boy on a honda 300ex. If I had to do it again, I would buy a stock banshee and just buy parts for it for a few years and put them on when he is ready. My son never really rode harder than he could handle in the beginning even the 300ex was too much. Now all he wants to do is ride my banshee :verymad: :yelrotflmao: Btw.. most aftermarket thumb throttles have a screw stop at the throttle. If worried, just screw it in to stop the throttle early. STLBILL
Does a Blaster "load up" like many two-strokes if you run it at low-throttle for long periods of time?
als660r
Does a Blaster "load up" like many two-strokes if you run it at low-throttle for long periods of time? I have found that most kids or new riders will find a way to mess up ANY TWOSTROKE. I would advise a honda 300ex or 400ex raptor 350 Easy to find used ones hard to mess up unless hey hit something When they get good at rideing and know what a quad should do than upgrade to banshee. DuneRookie
If you don't mind the maintenance get a Blaster....My boys rode Blasters till age 15 but it was lightly modified. Full milled head and Ct pipe, open air box W K&N.. They rode the Shiat out of it.....other wise the 300 Honda or Yami Warrior..Very dependable.....just my .02 cents..
