3
I had turn my stingers pipes to blue big time. I try to buff them on a buffing wheel with some paste and it turn back to chrome. Blueing is just on the surface. You can try that.
Tim C
iv read a few things on her about spraying high temp paint down the inside of the pipes to prevent blueing how many people out there have tryed this and does it really work? I read that a few years ago so when I bought my new CPI pipes I sprayed white heat paint in them and they haven't turned blue at all and it's been almost 2 years now. I took the pipes off and sprayed them again last winter and plan to do the same this year.

Tim C
What kind of pipes are you getting......Chrome pipes stay alot better then nickle plated pipes do. If your concerned about discoloring get "chrome" pipes - FMF Fatty and Gnary are nickle plated and so are Pro Circuits. FMF SST, Toomey, CPI, Paul Turners etc. are chrome. nunyabinness
i know this may be kind of a noob question but... is "blueing" pipes a bad thing??? as in... is it bad for your bike/pipes? or is it just not liked because it "looks bad"? nunyabinness
thanks for answering my question 06BaNsHeE. i was just curious because i actually kind of like the blued look of the pipes my toomey on my blaster looked really nice but it started to surface rust (it was un-finished) so i painted it with high heat paint. okbeast
Alot of times "blueing" occurs when you're running lean on your jetting and your pipes blue b/c they get so hot.
jbooker82
I sprayed my toomy's with white duplicolor 1200 deg paint and they discolored a littlle. Probably 4-6 inches. No biggie though the purple and blue look kind of neat. I even started out rich on my jetting.
