RNBRAD Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Anyone have these things? I have some old style heims for sale. "What we have here is Janssen heim joints that are encapsulated with 6061 billet aluminum, and a rubber greaseable boot. This new-PATENTED heim design will revolutionize the ATV A-arm industry, combining the maintenance free ease of a ball joint, with the safety against breakage and superior strength of a heim joint. Heims that wear out have now been eliminated by Janssen Motorsports." Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Looks nice How much do they cost? I am guessing around $200 for all 4 Quote

Not sure the manufacturer of my current heims. They came with the janssen mx-tech arms and then I put the protective boots over them. Quote
burleybanshee Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 It is the exact same heim that they had before, but came up with taping it to bolt on a cover and a ring to hold down the boot. They are only on the heavy duty heim, not the lite duty ones. Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 those are pretty sick looking..if i had an RNBRAD bike, id def have some of them... Quote

sanddragon2004 Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 they are 3/4" heims chromoly teflon lined with machined 6061, billet caps and a rubber boot, the idea is to protect the heim from dirt and debris making them last much longer then the older style, in addition they are much stronger. I am lifetime warranting all sets of arms sold by me with those heims. because i dont believe you are going to have a problem with them. they are an awesome design and these guys did an awesome job in the development. racer Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 a, how does the billet attach? is it glued? cause i dont want anyone cutting threads into the bearing race on my joints. b, isnt the advantage to heim the ability to set it up in double shear as well as the possibility of a hi-mis spacer? you cant do either with a billet cap covering half of the joint. FireHead Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 Not sure the manufacturer of my current heims. They came with the janssen mx-tech arms and then I put the protective boots over them. Here are some things that I know about regarding this topic: They currently do not make the joint picturedabove for the banshee. The current upgrade heims for the MX-Tech arms are made by Aurora. Now, I have a question for RNBRAD. How the hell do you get the protective boot on the heims? I could never get mine on. :: Quote
wesw Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 a couple small screwdrivers or a ice pick and roll them on. a major pain in the ass. plenty of beer to help pass time and cool your patience. Quote
burleybanshee Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Actually the hiems are made by fireball racing. Fireball sells them to other companys with the companys name on it. They put a lot of time and money into coming up with covers for the heims to keep out debree and keep in lube that would not interfer with the movement of the heim. They are also making up ball joints that are as impressive as the heim for strength. The joint is completely cnc'ed. Only down size to both is they are fairly heavy, Good for the woods and rock people, and big mx'ers. I would be suprised to see one of the new joints break. Quote
