sandman121383 Posted December 7, 2006 Report Share Posted December 7, 2006 (edited) hey guys. my bikes leakin oil out the main seal right where the sprocket is located. turns out that a bolt is spinning and there was a helicoil put in proviously. so what can i do as a permanent fix since the jerk i bought my bike off of had pout the helicoil in? can i take that one out and "re-helicoil" it or tap it and use a new sized bolt? it's on the top case half in the back over the sprocket,so what do u guys think i should do? Dark Ranger Posted December 8, 2006 Report Share Posted December 8, 2006 I would think you could replace the helicoil. Just make sure that when you remove the old one that you clean the threads really well (you don't want any oil on them) and then apply the right amount of Loctite before installing the new helicoil.
