theshee
I am looking at some pipes right now and need some info. I have looked at Toomey T-5's, CPI inframes, and FMF pipes. Are FMF pipes as good as the toomey and CPI pipes for making power? They are way cheaper and I didnt know if they just werent as good or what. Please everybody just give me some opinions on some different sets of pipes... thanks
dajogejr
Is your motor ported? No, don't get CPIs. They are drag style pipes which make the majority of their power way up in the RPM range...and don't work as well with non-ported motors. FMF and T5s are both fine choices. I'd say FMF has a little more low RPM power, less high RPM power in comparison to the T5s. If you ride fast trails, dunes...and drag race, get the T5s on a stock port motor are hard to beat. If you have the money, stainless steel Trinity Stage IV are nice pipes too. Woodsy, slower riding FMFs would be a better choice.
csrmel
ive ran against fmf bikes and i believe the t5 has every bit of low end the fmf pipes have and even more perhaps. its got a bunch more top end as well.
Washburn
ive ran against fmf bikes and i believe the t5 has every bit of low end the fmf pipes have and even more perhaps. its got a bunch more top end as well. The FMF pipes just dont hit as hard. Your rite. But they do have a nastier low end hit. The Gnarleys Ive never ran the SSTs. than the T5s and T6s but they (Toomey) last longer and hit harder everywhere else. While FMF do have some good pipes they just are not as good as Toomey. 2001JLShee
I've got FMF Fattys...and I absolutely love them, I've got stock porting tho. FMFs will give you a lil extra cash you can spend on somethin else for your bike

fastbanshee8
Personally, I wouldn't run a set of Toomey's, if someone gave them to me, but that' just my opinion, because I think they are way over-rated. I used to run FMF Fatties, with and without a port job, and it ran great, but a lot better with the port job. Seems like most people don't like the FMF's, because they think a pipe has to shine like a diamond, to run good. My Fatties would hit like a mo-fo in the mid-range, especially after the port job was done. And remember, you will find a bunch of different opinions, on each question, but it's your decision, since it's your quad, and that's all that really matters. Do what makes you happy, and go on. csrmel
a buddy of mine has a banshee similar to mine but hes got fmf sst's and 19cc domes instead of my 22cc domes. (hes got to run race gas). hes also got vforce 3 reeds and i only have stock reeds. we were doing some comparison testing a while ago by swapping bikes, etc. if we both run in 5th gear at a low rpm and we both pin the throttle at the same time my bike will creep ahead his at low rpm. once our pipes hit then mine pulls away even quicker than at low rpm. and to top it off he weighs about 50lbs less than me. thats why i said i think the toomey t5 has every bit as much low and midrange power as an fmf pipe. and we all know its got more top end. i dont think theres any reason to buy fmf over toomey except the price. scooter
id go with toomey all the way is your engine stock? t5s or t6s would be best they say t 5s if you plan on port work. i have t6s and love them depends on who you talk too .ive been told t6s respond to port work just fine also. kubiac3
I personally use 2 snorkels wrapped in high temp wrap with a 4 inch baffel. Buy paul turner mids for when you need low end power more then top Buy Toomeys for a more all around pipe, from lets go for a putt through the woods to lets go fast through the dunes Buy fmfs if toomeys are out of the price range Also pro circuits are an all around pipe. Idk there price comparison to fmf and toomeys though. Nor do I know if there any better then toomeys and fmfs. I have them and like them, havent compared them to anything though. banshee_ga
what aboot procircuits? nobody ever talks bout em. I have ran both the fmf fatties and the pro circuits I personally like the pro circuits better they produced better power on my bike. I didn't see any lose in bottom end but seen a improvement in mid range and top end

87sheerips
Ive been running FMF gold series for a while now. I switched from T5s back when I had my stock port. Not that big of a diff. Now i have a pretty aggressive port job, and the FMFs still RIP!! But, I think im guna try out some T5s here soon, try and get a little more top end. But like others have been saying, I believe FMF is the best bang for your buck. You can get a set usualy around 250 shipped that are nice. Good luck!
