drnez
We're in the process of setting up this race, we have the ball moving forward and are just finalizing some of the paperwork. It will be sanctioned by the AMA and we will be paying District 14 points for all of you series riders. The races will be on a 1/4 mile oval track. We will have both rubber and studded classes for all levels of riders. We welcome motorcycles, sidecars, and quads. We will be following all AMA/D14 rules for this event, so visit the District 14 Website for rules/regulations. The tenative date for this event is Sunday, February 4th. This is the same weekend as the National's in Wisconnsin. We are expecting somewhere around 150 racers and MANY spectators. It's going to be a great event. There will be HOT food vendors and possibly even live music. More information will be provided as it comes in. Please followup here with any questions/comments, or you can send me a PM. Hope to see a lot of you there! I would also like to mention that we will be having a 0-110cc pitbike class added to the event. This will be exhibition only, 4 strokes only. All AMA/D14 rules apply. Open age and modifications. If it goes over well we may add it as an official class for 2008!

drnez
Hey guys! sorry I havent followed up with this. I posted the information on a lot of difference forums and forgot to set this one to notify me when people reply. Heres a link to our current flyer: http://www.ice.s3webcenter.com/WhiteLakeRacing-bowmans.pdf The race will be on White Lake in front of the White Lake Inn which is at the corner or Ormond Rd and Jackson Blvd in White Lake. Here is a link to mapquest for it: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formt...MI&zipcode= Registration starts at 8AM on Sunday (Feb. 4th) and the races will begin around 10AM. Since all of the AMA ice races have been canceled so far this year, this will be the season opening while the nationals run on the same weekend wisconnin. We should have a pretty good turnout due to this. We went out today and checked the ice conditions and we're sitting on around 8" right now. It is kind of soft, so we're hoping for some seriously cold weather for ideal race conditions. Give me a call if you have any questions, my name is Frank. 248-863-7584. Hope to see you out there! Yep. Tether, number plates, full OEM fenders. And you can only use Kold Kutter type screws. Of course you'll need your AMA and D14 memberships, which can be done at the race. drnez
Man, Saturday was horrible! I was out there all day preparing the track, and setting up for sunday. we had a lower turnout than expected on Sunday. I think the weather had something to do with it. But other than that, it was a great time! The races were great to watch, and despite rough ice conditions, people were having a blast. I couldnt tell you how many people came up and thanked us for putting this on. We're definately going to do it again next year, hopefully a few races over the winter, as well as possible snowmobile/quad drags! We had a photographer take around 600 pictures. I'm waiting for the proofs to come back, and will post a few when I get them.
