tmac20031
What is the better schock? Ohlins or elka compression & rebound adjustable regular travel? Does anyone have a set of ohlins shock on their bike? Personally, I think all the major brands are good. I mean a shock is a shock, all the major shock suppliers make their shocks with all the same principles so the only thing you should worry about is what price you can afford and what rideing style you mostly do. Now, if you are serious about your suspension than there is nothing better than Fox Evols. Some people will say negative things about these shocks but its because they dont have them, granted I dont have them either but facts are facts. Fox has hightened the bar because they are useing new technology, they use air instead of springs which eventually will become outdated. Also the Evols have two compression chambers instead of the common one, and it is used to actually prevent bottoming out. Again, these shox arent cheap but niether are Elkas and you would have to change your swing arms but if you want serious comfort then Fox Evols are definately the way to go. Yaxy
I run Ohlins on both my shees. If you can afford it run the fuill comp/rebound/ preload versions. As far as quality they are both good. I bought a set of full adjustables from a builder her on sight and asked him the same question. He sells both brands and prefers the ohlins valving over Elka's. His opinoin is that Axis and Ohlins are the best you can buy. Chris

Trick2stroke
DMC's aren't long travel. If I'm not mistaken they're denton +2+1 arms with elka dual rate's. Check out Janssen for a lt front end. Sometimes you can find the outlaw front end for 1500 new on ebay. Janssen LT Front End. +3+1's with quad rate elkas.
