IROOST1
I plan on building another banshee and have all the parts already. I just want it to last and look sick. I want to do it right, so. If I buy a blast cabinet, a hotcoat powdercoating gun, and a electric oven, will the parts turn out nice??? I dont want to spend the money if it wont work good, but if it will, its a wise investment. I told a few people my ideas and already have people requesting parts to be done if i get it. Mullet Man
from what i know/have read, it is relatively easy. but like anything paint related, PREP WORK IS THE KEY to a good durable lasting finish there is all knids of good info on the net for DIY'ers
mgty3whlr
Having the parts CLEAN and oil free is the big issue. If you don't, the finish will not come out nice and the coating is a bitch to strip off once it is baked.

Also they more consistant the bake the better the powder cures. Having the parts CLEAN and oil free is the big issue. There are a couple liquid stripers out there that you can use to take care of this, just by leaving the part in for a few hours.

jbooker82
you could just get a blaster like this. You can reuse the sand. Some times when you reuse the sand it starts pluging up your gun. Blaster LINK
kaotik1
Wont the blast cabinet take everything off most parts, just with a good media. You want to get the oils out of the areas where there is no lionger paint. So balsting won't get all this. We do a burn off to bake out the oils and such before blasting, then coat and bake.
