The super cub I believe is a 72mm bore.

yeah like.....what he said.....lol

dan from a&s told me some folks call the 72mm's super cubs......

but basically there the same cyls....just the 72's are a larger bore

he quoted me close to 3,000.00 for the full cub motor

72mm

v-forces

34mm keihns

4 mill stroker crank and rods w/pistons

pro-design cool head

that includes taking the motor out of the bike, doing all the work, all the above new parts

and jetting it on his dyno

i thought it was a pretty good deal considering what your getting

but i just cant pony up that kinda ching right now....so .040 over stockers it is.....lol

a 553cc motor on 34mm carbs? dosent sound like the smartet thing iv heard... if you can get all that for 3grand you better jump on it! but might want to try some bigger carbs!

and if your going to do a 72mm piston wtf would you want a 4mm crank! get a 10 and do it right!

get your self a 602!!!!!hang with the big boys lol

One thing you are over-looking is the head. The super cub uses a different style head. You can't use your stock banshee head on the super cub, you have to get one of the special ones that's made for the super cub.

Check out planetsand.com they have a LOT more info on them over there.

Rob @ RDZ racing as well as Nate McCoy has been doing a lot of work on these super cubs.

From what I've read, they take quite a bit of porting work to get them to run as good or better than a 68mm cub.

So...that being said, I can't see them being that good of a deal, yet. They start out more expensive, they need a special head which a few manufacturers have stepped up and started making, and they need considerable porting (read...even more $$) to get them up to par.

RDZ posted some dyno specs on them...and it was a minimal gain last I checked...and Rob did quite a bit of porting on it to get it there.

I thought the super cubs dident have a power valve? Did I get off information?

Umm...where on this thread does it say they do have a powervalve?

Correct, they are just like a cub. NO Powervalve.

Cheetah motors have PV's, not cubs or supers.

(G---Super stands for Super Pricey...)

I read one of Nate McCoy's threads on PS. They've gotten 105HP out of gas on a 421 cub, and 107 on a super. Kinda hard for me to justify that kinda cabbage based on that...I can take a dump to make up 2HP...LOL...

It doesnt say. I was just curious to see if my information was on. I dont know to much about any of the cubs and more info never hurts.

Ok so the Cheetahs are the only cubs with the PV. The PV is a huge bonus IMO more bottom end more torque more HP. rite?. Why dont the other cubs have them?

One word...

PRICE.

My next big motor build will be a Cheetah motor. Probably a 10 mil...but, this little cub runs damn good for me right now...I'm not done with it yet!!

I'm pretty sure the Cheetah motors take different reed cages than the Cubs do.

CR250 cages...but again, not sure. They might even take a different head.

The cubs are a bolt on cylinder. They accept the stock pistons, head, exhaust, reed cages, etc.
