BigRed350x
It sucks that he broke down way out there like that, but come on guys... shit happens. The fact that the guy (whoever it is) is working with him to try and fix the situation is good. Might not be a free total replacement, but he's doing SOMETHING. That's what matters. Its hard to tell how much is too much and how much isn't enough sometimes. It would be tough to measure how thick it was in that one spot unless you had a set of machinists mics or something. A flywheel can be picked up on ebay cheap, and he said he would re-cut it, so the guy is doing something for him. Yeah, it sucks it broke for him, but thats the nature of the beast. we all do stuff to our bikes that decreases reliability, but its a risk we take for the fun we have. Hope you can get things sorted out man. - Jared

rocketboy
I cut his flywheel and no i didnt make it any thinner than any of the other ones i have ever cut ,in fact i use the same specs as most builders do for those diameters, theres not really a good way to see what is manufactured on the inside of the casing and these things are mass produced and have flaws ,voids ,and differences internally just like any production OEM part ,spin it at 11,00rpm for awhile and theres a chance for things ot go wrong ...not making excuses ,just saying sometimes shit happens as we can see by the pics,I wouldnt want this to happen any more than he does and as soon as i read this post i instantly emailed polish and discussed several options to resolve this and to address my sympathy for his troubles and he has my word on what ive said to him ,granted it looks much thinner when its all apart i n the pics like that .like was mentioned before i n this thread i have cut dozens and dozens and dozens of these and polish had been running this wheel for a good while now, they are trued and machined off a banshee crank.Im a stand up guy and more than willing to make things right within my means if theres any problems just ask anyone who has ever dealt with me on porting or other mods i have done .sometimes things can go wrong as any banshee owner can testify to. I wonder how many nickel plate bore flaking happens out of 80 cub monoblocks... how many bad spark plugs there are out of 80 NGK's.. how many differences there are in 80 wiseco stroker cranks or vforce reeds ...etc if you still think im a piece of shit and a hack , then you are certainly entitled to your opinions.
