Dome Size

Was wondering what size domes I would want to run with a coolhead on a banshee at sea level and also have +4 timing and still be good with 50/50 race/pump gas mix? I tried to search it out but it was kinda hard to sift through

you should be ok with 20cc domes but the only 100% way to be for sure is a compression test...

Ditto...

No one will stick their neck out and say with 100% certainty you can do this or that....and be safe.

Too many variables...all we can do is point you in the right direction with averages...

357hp, isnt 150 kind of low for 20cc domes? im getting 147psi and 148psi with 22cc domes.

the noss machine website says with 20cc you should be at around 169psi.

These pressures are estimates based on fresh stock bore, piston, porting, and deck height.

It is recommended to check your compression after installation.

Sea Level 1000' 2000' 3000' 4000' 5000'

18cc 197 178 171 170 165 145

19cc 183 167 160 158 152 137

20cc 169 156 149 146 140 129

21cc 156 145 138 134 128 121

stock 130 125 118 112 106 100

Im running the 20ccs and getting 150 at 1089 feet also. Its not as high as it says on the chart but I figured thats what Ide be around. I regret not checking my compression on my stock head but oh well. Ide say its not great but I dident put them on a fresh topend either. Its not rebuild time but it would be higher on a fresh topend.

well i am a new member and i was thinkin about doing a cool head and i about to order but i need the cc's on the domes to be real close to a 100 % for my bike .... 30 over wisco pistons reeds from vforce pro design boost bottle ( ponitless lol ) and the prodesign air intake kit what would be the best cc to run on this set up nothing to crazy would like ot stay on pump gas

If your timing is stock and you run premium pump gas, 21cc should be fine.

thank you guys for all the info and the help .... 1 last question i heard u need to change the head studs with the cool head because the stock head bolts are not long enought ... true or not ?

for a pro design head this is true but a noss head you dont have too..and both take the same domes...
