temp gauge

Recommended Posts

thats gay! Get a temp gauge from autozone then go to lowes and buy a T for the temp sender. If your worried about it vibrating then get the gauge that is water filled. I didnt care if it vibrates a little. I mounted mine in the front fender.

Here is mine it is just an auto's temp gauge from a parts store. The temp sender just goes in to a brass T and there is a pice of pipe coming out of each end of the T. Just install it in line with your radaitor hose. I would recomed putting it in the top hose that way you get a more accurate engine temp reading. If you put it in the bottom then your getting a reading of what the temp is coming out of the radiator.

where do you get the tee?

Ace Hardware, Lowes, Menards.

just get one that is made for higher temps

i think that DIY setup is cheesy, utilizing a poultry temp guage lol. and still you are reading temps from the radiator, not temps in the exit hose out of the motor

i would think when you are reading temps coming out of the overflow spout, that its too late...

plus, being in the overflow path, that would require a constant flow wouldnt it? to get accurate readings all the time.

Mine is somethig like this. I have two little pices of pipe on two of the holes so you can splice it in to the radiator hose. The 3rd hole is were the temp sender screws in to. I am not for sure what size it is though. I think that it would probably be 3/4 since that is what size the banshee's radiator hoses are.
