Racism is a terrible thing, IMO, but I believe everyone is racist to a degree. If 2 7/11's were adjacent to one another with the same pricing, service, etc....one had 5 adolescent white kids loitering out front and the other had 5 adolescent black kids out front, I could guarantee that white people would use one and blacks would use the other. Shit, look at the OJ verdict.....plain as day in your face racial boundaries. Most racial slurs I've heard have either been from tasteless jokes that everyone laughs at, or from desperation in a heated situation. If I was out with my girlfriend and a hispanic guy was giving me or my girlfriend shit, and it was gonna come down to a fight, there's no telling what I'd tell him, even though I have tons of family in California that I can't even pronounce their name properly, they are so Mexican. Does it make me a racist? Personally, I could give a shit about Kanye West, Kramer whatever the f his name is, Dave Chapelle, Mel Gibson, etc. Nobody is perfect. If you don't like them, don't put money in their pockets.
Brooke
like I said, you keep livin in your "perfect world, and I'll live in the "real world".... from the sounds of it, you dont know what the real world is, much less have to deal with the people that live in it. so, unless i approve of racism, i dont live in the real world? im not saying it doesnt exist, im saying no one should approve of it or make excuses for being one. enFORCER
i dont live in the real world? im not saying it doesnt exist Yes, but in the "real world" as well as here, your sociopathic personality keeps you from relating to people and reality in a mature and intelligent way. Perhaps you should try a little harder to camouflaged your lack of social skills.

racer
im am living in a world where if i said anything racist my parents would probably smack me, my peers would certainly frown at that behavior ya, well, thats great. if i say something like that to my friends they find it hilarious, parents don't care, and deep down i suspect politicians support it. maybe its because you're from the north, the group that freed slaves in the first place. maybe its because you believe in utopia, either way it doesn't matter. racism has existed, does exist, and will exist. it HAS to. you ask: why? because no one likes everyone and people are too lazy to come up with their own ideas. therefore we have stereotypes; and when stereotypes are negative towards a group, be it based on color, religion, or what fuckin color of car you drive its racism. better learn to grip, cause it aint going anywhere. im am living in a world where if i said anything racist my parents would probably smack me, my peers would certainly frown at that behavior ya, well, thats great. if i say something like that to my friends they find it hilarious, parents don't care, and deep down i suspect politicians support it. maybe its because you're from the north, the group that freed slaves in the first place. maybe its because you believe in utopia, either way it doesn't matter. racism has existed, does exist, and will exist. it HAS to. you ask: why? because no one likes everyone and people are too lazy to come up with their own ideas. therefore we have stereotypes; and when stereotypes are negative towards a group, be it based on color, religion, or what fuckin color of car you drive its racism. better learn to grip, cause it aint going anywhere. RNBRAD
Now don't forget about my scenario and how we all show different levels of racisim. Some people may be in total denial that they are not a so called "racist" but I promise, each and every one of you, that you exhibit racism in some form or fashion. Now these may be just an internal hunch or expressed as an outward emotion etc.. It's kind of like a person being weary before they pet a pitbull dog. It's a part of self preservation that is imprinted within us. Like I said I don't condone it and in order to function nornally (key word here) we must sometimes supress our desires and our fears. Racism is not just a word derived for the white's that hate blacks. What Kramer did was wrong and he should of supressed those feelings. He could of very well went off on anyone. white, black, female, short, fat, bald, you name it. And people that show hatred towards short, fat, bald guys, I don't like. Cause that will probably be me one of these days. lol

Big Blue
Why cant people just let it go and ignore it, I could care less if someone called me cracker, honkey, white trash ect. I know what I am and could care less about petty names that are supposed to hurt my feelings.
8buck
Why cant people just let it go and ignore it, I could care less if someone called me cracker, honkey, I guess if your/I'm not black you'll/I'll never understand. If you are taught something from the day you are born, for example, a specific religion, that gay people are evil, that if you kill the "infidel" and die in the process you will be blessed with a thousand virgins in the after life, that 4-strokes are the best or that being called a nigger is the most insulting thing ever, then that is just how you think life is supposed to be. For the most part, whites have never really been told that being called a racial slur is all that big a deal so it doesn't bother us so much. Blacks have a BAD history in their blood (slavory) that they are told about from the day they are born, we don't, so we are unable to understand. The fact that they take such offence over the word today, IMO, is wrong. But, the fact that we KNOW they take such offence of the work and still use it is just as bad! If a person has a problem with a race, they should keep it to themselves for the most part. We have a RIGHT to speek our minds but in certain circumstances that doesn't mean it IS RIGHT! Savy?
