Problems With MY Carbs?

Wassup guys. I just purchased that 03 special edition i was looking at. The thig is bone stock. I took it to the track Sunday and it ran strong all day with no complications. During the last half hour of riding i got stuck in the mud. Not deep just enough to let my tires spin. I did not overrev the engine or anything like that. Some 4x4 pulled me out. When i started it again it seemed to be idling very high so i gave it some gas to see if it would come back down to normal. The engine proceeded to climb to a really high rpm despite me letting go of the throttle. Then it would not let me kill the engine with the switch or by turning the key off. I had to put it into gear to stall it because the engine was runnin so high. It almost sounded like it does when my Cr 250 is runnin out of gas. But i was nowhere near out of gas. And when i started it back up i put it in gear and rode it no problem. When in gear with clutch engaged and steady throttle the engine does not climb. I rolled the thing once during the day but still ran fine for about 2 hours. The next day when starting it i pulled the choke. It started first kick it was idling fine but as soon as i pushed the choke in the rpms started to climb again. pulled the choke out and they dropped. Whats goin on with my baby?????? Oh and i checked the throttle cable and it doesnt seem to be sticking. Please help me guys. How much is this gonna cost me.

First two things I would check would be to make sure the choke tube is still between the carbs and would also pull your carbs off and clean them; especially the pilot jet. If you don't have one already, I highly recommend picking up a clymers manual. Working on these are easy, and a lot of the routine maintenance can be done with hand tools

This link has a pic of where the pilot jet is in the carb, I'll see if I can find a pic of where the choke tube is...

If your banshee is completely stock with TORS on the carbs, I'd highly recommend getting a TORS eliminator kit. Check this link out, tells you what to do to bypass it until you can get the eliminator kit
