Yep, or calls back as soon as he can if he is real busy.. He also keeps his end of the deal and if anything goes wrong he makes sure that the customer walks away happy rather than nursing their ass.. They are a wealth of information that you simply can't find here.

 

But the whole thing about banning Jeff for not paying to advertise with them is a joke.

There are PLENTY of shops on there that don't advertise and I don't see them banned.

 

I guess that's the price Jeff has to pay for success and being busy.

 

PS is a great informative site, but their admin and politics policies suck....

I had visions of grandeur in mind when I hit the reply button here, but it's getting close to football time, and I need to get my head in the game. I won't apologize for anything I've said, and those that know me understand my frustration with said builder. Those that don't know me, well, suffice it to say that I think of myself as a consumer advocate.

Congress has taken time out of its busy schedule to pass legislation for solicitation of people on the "do not call list". Software companies have made millions of dollars writing SPAM filters for email. I laud the above efforts immensely.

So, what does this have to do with Jeff at the mighty FAST racing empire? I challenge you to click on the ol' FASTOYS username and look at his last 100 posts, hell, however many he has. Then come back and tell me that his self-promotional sales pitches aren't completely SPAM. You say he's good for the sport and good for HQ, show me how many technical questions he answers here. Let me guess, he doesn't have time to come on here and answer everyone's questions right? Well, he seems to have plenty of time to hit the wanted section and send PM's out daily, or do searches for people looking to get advice on upgrades, so he can put his foot forward and pitch a sale. I call buillshit. I think he got what was coming to him on Planet Sand, the premier site for the big builders.

I see very very few if any sales pitches in the last 20 or so posts he has, and plenty of technical help. He has always been a very very nice guy to me, I remember when I was having trouble with my carbs, and he told me they neded to be synched, etc. etc. I did not even know he sold a carb sycnh tool until I ask dajoegejr about it. Never once did he try to sell me one. And you know what, after buying it and using it, it cleared up my problem. From my limited experience here, Jeff is a very cool guy, and most of his posts are not sales pitches or BS, they are in fact quite helpful.

First off I really don't think Jeffs contribution should be in question and here is why. First off, as mentioned above Jeff does give info, and has helped me out before.. He doesn't spend as much time on here as others but to say that he doesn't contribute to questions I think is a bit of a streach.. I can hear it now, "where, show me" well Iam not going to waste time pleasing you. If you truely look, your point(lack of) would be taken care of. Second. He has spent his money TO LEE to have a banner put up. Therefore I feel he should be able to try and get his every penny worth, if that means saying "check us out" or "we got a sale" then who F-IN cares??? Yes, Andy was cocky in his replies. But he got 100% thrown under the bus and trashed. I don't believe he is a site sponsor anymore (I Think he used to be...not sure).

See the pattern? I bet my last dollar if he was a site sponsor, it would've gotten deleted right away.

I've personally met Andy at the track. Yep, he's cocky on the boards. However, nice as can be and VERY personable... Answered a few questions I had, and I enjoyed speaking with him.

His shop is VERY close to the sand drags I go to, so...he has some representation there.

 

Point being....if he was a paying member or sponsor of PS...that 15 or 20 page thread would've never, ever happened.

I am glad that he advertised those reeds, He saved me abunch of money, And he took about 10-15 minutes to talk to me about my bike and future mods I was going to do. I even told him that when I go to get it ported I was taking it somewhere else (Because the builder is local and I would like to be within arms reach of someone with my motor) And he agreed with me. Didnt try to talk me out of it at all. So in my opinion he is a great guy to deal with and will being getting alot of repeat business from me and I will definently recommend him to anyone of my friends.

I second that I have talked to jeff about a future motor build and he is one of the nicest builders I've ever talked to, very informative and will tell you what you need and what you DONT NEED unlike alot of other builders. I told him I keep it in the FAST family when I can, which is often...but, money is money.

He also said, as long as your happy and riding, that's the most important part.

Odaen and I had a discussion about this last week and he summed up his beef with Jeff. It basically boiled down to odaen asking Jeff a technical question, and didn't get a technical answer, and Jeff wasn't really able to honestly answer the question...which he said he had never personally used what odaen was asking about. At the end of Jeff's response, he told odaen that if he needed any parts, to give him a call. From what understand, that's the only real issue he has with him...but am not 100% sure.

 

I understand where odaen might be disgruntled by not getting a text book answer back from Jeff, but don't think it's a reason to bash Jeff or make sly remarks on an open forum...and even more so say Jeff's out to get everyone's money. I don't think it's right, but he is entitled to his opinion whether I agree with it or not, and can respect that being that he is a friend of mine and has never done me any wrong. I figured I would just let that be what it was and move on...he can spend his money where he wants to and I can spend mine where I want to...and so on. Just because I don't agree with his "beliefs" doesn't make him a bad person, and I hope that he and I can continue to be friends regardless of who we like to deal with... :beer:

 

On the same note though, I have the utmost respect for Jeff, simply because he has always been honest and up front with me, and has never tried to feed me any bullshit about anything. He's always delivered on time if not sooner, and everything he's sold me has been exactly what he described. To me (just MY opinion), that alone is worth 10 times more than knowing exactly how something works, especially with all the POS shops that are out there. :shrug: Jeff will continue to be my builder of choice, and he's got my cubs right now for portwork. He will always be my first stop when looking for parts, or advice. Jeff has the best customer service of all the shops I have personally dealt with, and I know that my money is well spent with him at his business. I have nothing but excellent things to say about Jeff, and when someone asks, I will pass on the great reviews that I feel Jeff has earned.

Yeah, he dug at Jeff a bit, but...it could be much worse.

 

I asked Jeff how my cub would run with T5s and stock carbs... He just kinda chuckled and said...shit, I couldn't tell you. the cub motors I build are bigger carbs and CPI or Shearer pipes...
