tmac20031
My signiture says what I got. Im at the stock psi(130). I want to stay using pump premium so if I bump it up to 146(20cc at my elevation) will I see a descent hp gain (estimate please, I know everybody isnt a pro  so it will be fine as long as its somewhat accurate). O and I want to advance +4. Thanks. Edited November 17, 2006 by tmac20031
dajogejr
(estimate please, as long as its somewhat accurate). O and I want to advance +4. Thanks. a few HP. A few ft. lbs. of torque. And, you might need race/pump fuel with timing and that much compresion. HOW do you know it's going to be 146? There's no way you can tell exactly what your compression is going to be until you actually shave the head, or buy an aftermarket with domes. So...that being said. We can't really give you an estimate on HP until you give us an ACTUAL PSI rating.... Once you get up over 145PSI and advance the timing, it's hit or miss. If it's jetted correctly, you MAY be able to run pump gas. However, since it's a little warm down there in Mexico....you may not be able to. Animalman294
Yeah, you have a few variables there that need to be dealt with first. Then you can get a guess as to where the horses are, but even then its a guess. A dyno run would tell you for sure...........

I used the chart on the nossmachine website, it says what domes give what compression at different altitudes. a few HP. A few ft. lbs. of torque. O, and I want to get a noss head, so Ill just get domes accordingly. At my elevation, I actually think Im at 112 to 118 psi right now which isnt good and thats why I want to change them. So I just want to go as high as I can so long as I can stay on pump premium gas.
dajogejr
That is the place I always start, too....just keep in mind, that chart is approximate!
rocketboy
bone stock isnt 130 ,its more like 125-120 and the chart can be off ,stock has approx 23 cc domes going down to a 20cc dome should give you roughly~ 25 more psi ,thats usually around 2 lbs of torque and 2 more hp increase. . will be a good noticable mod for you
