reggie Posted November 17, 2006 Report Share Posted November 17, 2006 would cracked reeds cause this? the topend has about 5 rides on it i just changed spark plugs , flushed and changed antifreeze, cleaned and oiled the air filters(34mm with clamp ons) repacked the silencers, cleaned both carbs very good. my banshee has bottum and midrange but as soon as i hit powerband it breaks up and pops everytime. its not smoking and the plugs are burning brown. do have any ideas????? Meat Posted November 17, 2006 Report Share Posted November 17, 2006 I don't trust plug colors. my first instinct is jettig. You could on the right track with the reeds too. So rip off the carbs and check the reeds, if the reeds are all intact, then put some bigger main jets in the carbies and dial her in. After I installed a lightened flywheel, I forgot to check pick-up coil gap and had a very similiar situation. Closed the gap down and ran fine.
