not only will you replace your top end more often but you will also be consuming 2 times the fuel...

If you line up two 4mil cubs, 1 on alky, 1 on gas, better give the dude with gas a damn good pair of goggles cause he's gonna be eating sand for 600ft.

If you wanna go fast, ditch the gas. It takes 5 mins tops to purge with the right purge bottle.

better put a fuel pump on it if you are gonna run it out 600 ft! you will suck the float bowls dry and that will be the end of your top end! purging is not bad at all takes like 5min.

here is a video of a fast racing 4mill on alky (blue bike) giving a fast 4mill on gas the head start.

these are both cub motors built by the same builder.

you dont have to have a fuel pump if u run billet bigger bowls youll be fine,, and reded is correct alky is the only way to go, u go through it faster but its cheaper!! purging is no big deal like red ed said,, u unhook your fuel lines from your pingel and hook up lines from a purge bottle. just make sure your not lean always stay fat on the tuning an youll be fine ,it is a lil more unforgiving than gas if your lean though, doesnt take very long to pop but its still reliable.! my 50cents and as far as the gas giving the alky a head start, that rider must SUCK!!!! thats 80% of the race is the rider! or hes not set up like the other there are still many factors involving stuff like that that does not have anything to do with the hp gain you will have over gas!

dave what are you doing losing to a headstart lol...

He he....JT and I are gonna have some good races this next year, I can't wait!!!

He has the faster bike...no doubt. Keep in mind, JT was GIVING me the leave at Silver Lake.

Our bikes are same motor.

Mine is (was) on gas, 35PWKs, stock port cub (just cleaned up) with all new ignition, stock tranny, stock clutch.

JT's is on alky, override tranny, lockup, drag port, and lower than mine. Plus...he's geared one taller in the front, and I think his paddles are a hair bigger than mine, not sure.

What you see in this race is exactly what I expected going into the weekend. Him and I are very close in weight, I'd say....right JT?

I knew I'd give him a pretty good race...but, the longer it got...the worse it would be for me.

Until you ride a bike with an override and lockup, you're kidding yourself, really.

My bike ran damn fine all weekend, but....I'm going bigger and better too.

JT's bike has a better flowing Pingel Valve, HUGE floatbowls and a float missing out of each carb...and I'd still be a little nervous without a fuel pump longer than 300 or so feet.

The fuel pump might be 40 bucks, but....you'll need carbs setup to run a fuel pump. Older sled carbs use fuel pumps....so, figure that in the cost. But, I won't even think of running alky without one!!!
