PhillipSpearman
Please help, I am about to purchase a +4 swing arm for my 01, does any one know what the over all length of a stock chain is and I guess the new chain should be about 8" longer??? Also, what do I need to do about the brake lines, do I have to extend them?? Also, if I order +2+1 a-arms do I have to lengthen the brake lines? Does this mean +2 inches on each side or +2 inches total? I have no idea, I have always worked on making it faster, not making it ride and handle better. Any help or sources for info would be great, I am offshore and I want to order the stuff now so that when I get home it will all be waiting on me. letsgetthisdone
For the swing-arm you will need a longer chain and a +4 brakeline. +2+1 a-arms are to inches wider per side and move the front wheels one inch forward. You will need +2 brakelines if you get the a-arms as well as properly set-up aftermarket shocks.

For the rear brakeline, it depends on what type of carrier you're going with on the new swingarm. With the round carrier type, the caliper actually sits at the top of the rotor. I can't remember the overall change in length from stock, but it almost seems like it was shorter, or the same length. The chick that works the phone at Cascade Innovations knows what length, and I think their rear brake line is like $25. Can probably find it cheaper, but maybe she'll tell you the length over the phone. As for the chain length, just buy a 120 link chain and cut down the links to size.
