banshee332
After talking to Jim, he explained that my compression was expected to be around 120. Head didn't get milled, it was a misunderstanding. Everything's cool though. Shee is running hard just playing around with my jets, kind of sputtery. Thanks to everyone except for gayse@miamiatv.com :yelrotflmao: you will have alot more top end at 120 pounds of compression. anyways it should fly. Stock head with porting sounds like your compression is where it should be...You can run pump gas with those numbers
dajogejr
Any instructions on how to check the squish clearance with solder? Pretty easy stuff..Take a peice of solder 5 or 6 inches long and bend it into a L shape..Take out the spark plug and put the solder into the spark plug hole and take it as close to the cylinder wall as possible..Then have a buddy or use your hand if you can and press the kicker over a few times..Then pull the solder out and measure the thinest spot..Best to do it to both cylinders.. You should try and place the solder parrallel to the wrist pin, you will get the most accurate reading that way (think about how the piston rocks back and forth, but not side to side)

baddsheee
I've been doing searches on here in have heard people talk about 150, 155, 160 is when to start using 100 octane. Jim reccommended to run 100. Right now I have been running 100. Would definately love to run pump if I could, ours is 91 around here. Still want to keep a reliable shee. It all depends on what you want...you could run it as is with pump gas or get a cool head like wes suggested and bump your compression up to match the gas you're running
jbooker82
What pistons and crank are you running. You wouldnt have happend to use 795 series pistons with a non long rod stroker crank would you? That could cause a low compression reading as well. baddsheee
Running a stock crank. Early of next year I will be getting the Noss head. Spent a little change already and have to stack my chips up again. Will be going out to Dumont on the 19th of this month. Seems to be running pretty good up here in the hi-desert, lots of wheel spin, just have to play with the jetting this weekend. Maybe after a day in the dunes I might be happy with it for now. (Yeah right!) Only had the shee for 5 months. It's like crack, I can't stop, I just want more and more speed. I know a lot of you can relate to that, after reading some of your sigs on all your mods. I'll be there pretty soon, and then experienced enough were I won't have to ask the dumb :: questions. Just want to say that Jim is pretty helpful and patient. Awesome website  . Keep up the good work guys.
