lowriderb
can you be a little more specific as to what your doing when you cover the pipe, and where does it seem like the air is coming from? what pipes do you have? when were they taken part last? sandfreak03
The sucktion seems to be coming straight from inside. The pipes are Pual Turner's. I was just riding in third gear. when i got to top i heard a popping sound then it stopped. I Went to start it & wwould rev really high with out even touching the accelarater, so i shut it off. lowriderb
what temp was it last time you jetted your bike, and what is the temp at now? have you ever changed the oring in the head pipe, as well as the condition of the head pipe/stinger clamp? air filter connection to the carbs? running low on gas with stock carbs? broken reeds wont make the bike rev rather just bog usually.. sandfreak03
I have not changed the o ring/stinger clamp. does not have stock carb. it has a 2 in 1. Has a 4 mil. what happens if only one cylinder/piston is working? what temp was it last time you jetted your bike, and what is the temp at now? have you ever changed the oring in the head pipe, as well as the condition of the head pipe/stinger clamp? air filter connection to the carbs? running low on gas with stock carbs? broken reeds wont make the bike rev rather just bog usually.. lowriderb
if only one cylinder is firing then that could possibly be a broken reed on that side, broken piston, very fouled spark plug, spark plug wire off or broken, air leak, bad coil, bad groun on the cdi, bad cdi.. the most common problem is the broken reed, or spark plug issue.. If it's sucking air into the pipe it's most likely a reed.
jbooker82
Like all these guys said. Check your reeds. Since you have an intake manifold that goes between both cylinders. The other side that is running is pulling air through the exhaust, then engine and over to the other cylinder. That is what is making the high reving. sandfreak03
Hey, guesss what I found today. The left side reed was missing a fiber sqaure section. Found broken reed. Well, I can't wait to get the replacement reed fiber piece & try my banshee out. Hopefully that's all that was wrong. Thanks to everyone that replied to my message & helped me out. You guys ROCK. Edited October 29, 2006 by sandfreak03
