F.A.S.T.

I have not been on the Hq almost all summer,Its nice to be back. At the end of last dune season I seized my 4mil cub. I was so frustrated, made sure the jetting was right, cooled it off after racin' up the hill a few times. I did everything in my power to make sure nothing would happen to the engine, and of course the right piston siezed in the cylinder  I was without any doubt fixing it and selling my bike and going 4-poke. I had figured that owning a Banshee was just not for me. So after a long summer It was time to put it back together and put her up for sale. Jeff at F.a.s.t has treated me awsome on any parts purchases and been more than helpful with any questions,so without any doubt my cub cylinder was sent to him. I bought my cylinder from another builder and he drag ported it for me.I was pretty happy with the power my bansh now had,but it had the worst powerband i have ever seen. It was liked someone flicked a light switch and it would almost rip your arms from thier sockets. I heard from everyone that cubs had no bottom end so I thought it is what it is. After a lot of dyno runs and a ton of fine tuning it was finally ready to ride. Dont get me wrong my bike was fast, to make a really long story some-what short Jeff really was curious to see what another builder was doing for port work, unfortunatly at my expense. Being the guy Jeff is he inspected the cylinder and did what he could to fix the old port job and maybe clear up some of the powerband issues. Well I would say that Jeff again went above and beyond. Before I put everything back together I had spoke to Jeff and he said the reason the r/s siezed was that the ring had caught on the port.

I just have to say that after getting it full of gas it started right up and immediately sounded deeper more throughty and crisp. It revved quicker and just sounded awsome. :woot: So after the heat cycles he recommended I took it out broke it in like Jeff had instructed. WHAT a difference much smoother transition from bottom to top, more crisp seems to be quite a bit faster. Jeff I'm heading to the Glamis this weekend and I can't wait to ride it.

JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU AGAIN FOR KEEPING ME ON A BANSHEE. :thanks:

I'll let everyone know how it does !!!!!

Nice jab wes, but i think what should of been said was i was curious how another builder could mess up a set of Cubs so that they were so hard to tune and have NO bottom end at all! Dont worry wes, i dont copy anyones port work as you think/say i do. Why the heck would i want to build motors that are pipey, hard to tune and wont beat a Raptor? Sounds like we fixed his problems. Glad you can actually enjoy your bike now Adam.

quick !!

And he'll also be getting a big box with my cubs in it sometime within the next month for portwork  I got the money now, just gotta finish polishing these bastards...lol

Well sheesh Travis, give us the scoop? What size did you get? You polishing them yourself? Don't do your final polishing tell Jeff's done porting them.

Polishing it myself, I planned on getting all the sanding done and then send it off to him. When I get it back I was going to hit it with the polish. I figured it would be better this way since I know it'll probably get a little dirty in the porting process

I picked up Big Blue's 421 cub, should be a nice step up from my little 350 I'm running now. If my money doesn't fall through the hole in my pocket, I'd like to add nitrous to it as well. I got some stiff competition around here, gotta keep it close!!! Whole bike should look and run totally different next year, I can't wait

I do not think Jeff (F.A.S.T.) copys anyones work. Ive seen his motors work first hand. Jeffs blue bike (in a stock frame) hung with a very light drag frame K & T 10mm cub with some tunning advantage ( 32 deg @8500 ft ABOVE sea level ) thats our back yard. And jeff beat a lsr drag framed stock cylinder K & T 10mm (was kims personal bike at one time) with almost perfict tune (or as good as it gets for that day). Some would say that K & T is one of the best builders in the world. For jeff to beat one all out drag bike and to be knocking on the door of the other one seems to me that puts him right up there in that class wouldent you think. I dont have one of his motors but the class and workman ship he had that weekend in my mind makes him a world class person and builder. I will say this weather or not we ever do buisness. You will know if you just buy a set of paddles or you have a motor built Jeff will help you out and if I ever needed a motor built F.A.S.T. would be on my speed dial!

Well I guess I should have worded it alittle bit different, but I didn't. Its amazing how many people turn everything on this site into a DAMB SOAP OPERA! It was just to let everyone know what a stand up guy Jeff is AGAIN! Jeff I know how much better the bike runs now so screw everyone else. Well I guess if you copied his work why does my bike run so much better????? and have bottom end now....... Thanks again .....Adam

It's important to have confidence in your builder. I'm glad it's working out for you. Curiosity has got the better of me though. Who built your old cub motor?

And a question for Jeff: What was messed up with the porting on the cub? I really am curious. I want to know the symptoms to look out for on a motor that is hard to tune.

oh now jeff just giving you some shit. give me those ribs you. :yelrotflmao:

adam i remember talking to you forgot your user name. sorry to hear what happened. if i remember correctly you ran like a 45 pilot, 5th clip dek, 155 mains what you told me. i tried that and it didnt like that much fuel down low and mid. but tuneablity is a hot topic anymore. it dynoed pretty good i thought also.

what was the problem, if i remember correctly you had compression problems or something.

and yes your raptor runs very well, will have to practice more next yr. but still good times.

glad jeff got you going again.
