I'll throw my hat in the ring.......Going on 14 years long haul..Hopefully I'll be done with it soon, I interveiwed yesterday for a local job with UPS Freight......After 14 years of dealing with fucking idiots who don't know how to drive I'm ready to get off the road..

Jared, I work for one of the big oil companies that has a yard in the Rock, IPS. I'm out of Western Oklahoma, but there is always talk of going to the Rock to work because they are short handed.

 

You wouldn't regret it. Great pay out this way, and you have one of the top 5 biggest sand dunes, and the countries absolute least ridden sand dunes about a half-hour outside of town!

sweet pete car. used to drive one, was probably the best truck ive ever been in, smoothest ride and quiet to ride in.

 

yeah ive been driving 7 yrs its getting too much b.s.

 

like shawn said. 18 are nice just unless your pulling heavy loads or super hills you really dont need to split the bottom side.

 

 

company runs 10 speed autoshifts in our. nice butmake you lazy.

ZX12, you should have a pretty good chance of getting on.....I'm here in Oregon and I know they are hiring what seems to be quite a few people since they just took over motor cargo and someone else.

 

Good luck to yuh man, long haul aint for me.....props to you guys that can pull it off.

The trucks I drive either have a straight 10 or super 10.

we got a trailer dump that has a super 10 i hate it... but it also has a cummins hate it too.. give me a cat and a 13spd.. or 18spd i'm happy.. we have few trucks with reverse 9's they arent bad either other then they have detroit.. did i mention i'll take a cat!!lol

Thanks for the flowers regarding the Pete !!! I'll find out tomorrow on the UPS Freight job, my guess is there will be a lot of competition for the seat...

They bought out Overnite a while back, I see them growing quite a bit in the future...I'm thinking its a Teamster job $$$ :biggrin:

That who the other one was..Overnite. I don't know what you guys are making back there but I think UPS guys top out at around 26-27 bucks, which is pretty good in my opinion for cruising at 55 with the cruise control on.

Oh and Cats are the only way to go. I just have never been that impressed with the cummings engines that I've got to drive, didn't seem to have as much bottom end power as the cats do.
