bullshit or not? help.

alright, so i was riding and my girlfriends dad had his buddy come out... he has a sled shop... he also has a shee... its got a mxport (home done) stock head, milled... fmf fatties, single 35mm and such, blah blah blah and runs amsoil oil with 87octane. yes, with a milled head. anyways. you know my mods from my sig... i also have a 13tooth front to go with my 22" rears to get my bottom back... my compression is at 152ish and im running 93oct with klotz supertechniplate... this guy is telling me this....

 

me "im thinking of getting a lightened flywheel and getting a mx port.."

him " dont do that. if you get that lightened, its only for drag racing. ive saw people have their flywheels spider out and explode because they were lightened."

me "oh."

him "yeh, and i smelled the oil youre running... you running premium? that benoil in there is gonna blow your motor because in the high revs, its starving it of lubrication... you need to run amsoil... itll bog more, but last forever."

me " ......"

him " oh and that head you have, with that high compression, you need race gas. and id get rid of that head because it doesnt cool. it actually gets your bike hotter on a hot day. go back to stock and mill it. im running 87octane with mine."

me " oh yeh? " ....im getting really annoyed now.

him " yeh. lets race down the road...

 

 

we race.. i cant launch for shit and he dusts me on the launch because he drags his bike... he toasts me but i started catching up but because hes got taller gears (15th front on 20" tires") he pulls a tiny bit on top...

 

 

he said "see, your revs are too fast and you cant get it.

 

we go from a 2nd gear roll... i hosed him. he said nothing...

 

sorry for this rant. he pretty much shot down everything ive heard about mods. my g/f was inside and her and her brother said "his bike sounds like hell!" hahahaha

 

someone please set me straight????

this dude sounds like a tard to me... the flywheel being lightened IS more for drag but many people like them on the trails... but he is correct, they where built more to duing and draging and they can spider but i havent seen anydo it....

 

as far as the oil he is full of shit... i have a 4m stiorker 5m long rod with the cool head he claims dosent cool and i run yama lube... the oil is getting to your motor regardless its in the gas, as long as your not running 80:1 or some crayz your fine..

he must have a real shitty port job... and his advise is as poor as it gets IMO, the lighter flywheel works great even for trails ,who doesnt want a snappier powerband with better response ?,yo uwil lactually increase torque by reducing the rotating mass load agaisnt your crank but power will be more abrupt .dont know about you guys but when im at the base of a huge steep hill I want to get right into the meat of my powerband as soon as possible so i can pull up it without bogging .it is very rare for a flywheel to come apart if its cut right .ive only seen one do it (ive probably cut over 60 banshee flywheels)and it was only because of a OEM casting flaw in the wheel .Also Klotz techanplate is NOT klotz benol ,the technaplate is composed of 80% synthetic and 20% castor oil and it is one of the best oils on the market I have ever seen or used . stock heads and coolheads run virtually the same tempature once theyre up to operting temps ,the interchangable domes make them nice ,it is only the bigger radiator that will effectivly cool the engine better.genrally as long as your under 160lbs of static compression ,detonation shouldnt be a problem although id run only premium pump gas and not shitty 87 octane full of water and detergents. best way to show him hes full of shit is to get those mods and then re-race him and smoke his ass by 10 bikes

milling and rechambering the head vs a milled head: the milled and rechambered head or cool head will not run any hotter than a milled head..

 

87 octane... apparently someone cant read: ALL sport bikes REQUIRE at minimum premium pump fuels!

 

having port work: get it.. you wont regret it once your bike is set up and tuned..

 

lighter flywheels: like was said, your power band will hit and be a little more snappy, as far as spidering out.. i doubt it.. more or less if its going to break it will break on the face of the flywheel between the holes.

 

 

 

tell your nascar fan that your dealing with that he doesnt know what he's talking about seeing how he doesnt know much of anything about performance...

That's cause you run Trinity pipes. You don't have the ping sound radiating from the expansion chambers like other pipes made with thin steel. I immediatly noticed that when I changed pipes. They are quiet up front but loud in the back.

on another note... he completely shot down F.A.S.T. because he hasnt saw their bikes in videos.... hmmm.... wtf?

I won't even put 87 in my weedeater, I just use all the leftover 93 and 927 oil from when I ran pump gas.

 

Ha ha ha...yeah, I run my 110 and Klotz R50 in my weedeater too....it damn near gives me wood when I cut the lawn...Wish I could start up and ride my shee once a week instead of doing the lawn....lol.

 

Yeah, I call dipshit too.

Said it before 100 times. When I put on a +4 plate and shaved the flywheel I LOVED how my T5/Stock carbed (100% virgin cylinders) ran in trails...much, much easier to ride.

 

Shaving a flywheel on a twin cylinder two stroke is not the same as a single cylinder bike, two stroke or 4....period.
