Like to see how it stacks up against the rest...bout time kawi gets with it. I think that has aluminum subframe and EFI. Meat Posted October 23, 2006 Report Share Posted October 23, 2006 I like it :shrug: I mean debating the looks of the machine is personally preference and has nothing to do with what the machine can do. But if you look at the specs on this thing, its got some cool-ass features. Aluminum frame.... first of all, an aluminum frame is cool as hell no matter what, secondly aluminum framed quads are the future and Kawasaki has the jump on the competition, and thirdly its got to be a few lbs lighter than a steel frame. Reverse gear.... great for XC racing and everyone else in the world who are not racers. Fuel injection... the future again. All 450's will eventually have fuel injection. If ya's know anything about anything, you'll know carberators will be going the way of the dinosaurs. The front end geometery.... narrow main frame spare that keeps the front A-arm mounts closer to the centerline of the quad, and that will reduce bump-steer and allow more wheel travel. The best frame designs are the narrow framed Laeger and Roll 250rs. The Kawi aluminum frame is built on the same design as these aftermarket 250r frames. Plus the quad has all the basic high tech goodies like the other 450's have, like dual piston brake calipers, a high revving modern 4 stroke motor and above average front shocks with ressys. Bonus features are the wave style brake rotors and the stock handle bars are a quality aftermarket set, Renthals. But it will be kinda cool having the big 4 all racing again. Kinda cool to see Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue all out competing. Kinda reminds you of the 80's when it was the Quadracer 250, 250R, Tecate, and Banshee. Ah yes, the good ole days. Now for those of you who think the KFX450 might desimate all.... You have to realize, Yamaha is just setting back waiting for everyone to make their final release so that they can make the YFZ even better. Talk of fuel injection and an aluminum frame is on their list too. Imagine a 60 horse, 320 lbs. YFZ right out of the box. How sick would that be? I'ld buy it.
