Well my bike has been working fine for the whole summer except a fried CDI (water), so I left for a ride today and not even 100 ft out of my driveway it just shut off. So i check my plugs for spark and they only spark somtimes. I have all the tors shit cut out and i have tested the whole harness for continuity and all the wires are good...Could this be my CDI again?

Hopefully....you have a Clymers.

You can OHM the stator and Coil. Might be time for new plugs caps, known to go bad on stock wires.

Remove the left side cover, and check for moisture, as well as check your flywheel air gap between the Magnets and the pickup coil.

Normally, when a CDI goes bad, it doesn't spark at all. But, stranger things have happend.

I'd also double check your kill switches, key and your grounds, too....

I believe the cdi can be intermitent.

my '87 did that ,every thing checked out so I started tapping

on stuff the & when I tapped on the cdi it would spark I got tired of diagnosing it one day & beat the crap outa the cdi & it worked perfictly untill it got stolen

On my '95, it ran fine until until one day. When it (the motor) warmed up, then ran on 1 cyl for a little bit then quit altogether. If you let it cool down 5-10 minutes, it would run fine again until it got totally warmed up. Although my stator seemed to check good on the ohm meter, I got a used one off ebay, and been running perfect ever since. Once the stator got heat soaked it was weak and wouldn't give the CDI box what it wanted and decided to say F.U.! If you have a local banshee buddy, put your CDI on his and see if it acts up. Good luck. Marc.
