Mullet Man
stick with yamaha!! a 450 is gonna hold its value better then a banshee in the long run. i couldnt even get $2500 for my '03 and its in great shape banshee IMO is more comfortable. all the 4 strokes i have ever ridden, the seats are like 2x4's. and i felt cramped on the controls (i'm 6-1) the EFI on the new Raptor is pretty sweet feature to have. ride anytime anywhere without worry! whatever ya do, stick with Yamaha!! Edited October 20, 2006 by Mullet Man
NY350twin
Your best bet would be if you new someone who had each quad and ride both and see how you like both of them. Someone can describe the diffrences between the two and four stokes, but honestly you gotta try it for yourself. Unfortunatlly not that many people have friends that have different quads to test out and see what suites them. Since i live on the east coast i also do alot of trail riding. I would recommend the 4- stroke, because its alot more comforatable riding for long distances, and less riding fatique. And i would really recommend getting a quad with reverse bec. when trail riding your always gona have to turn around , plus it helps you to get unstuck if your in a tight situation. The raptor 700 would be the best choice, or get a 400ex and with the money saved you could hook up the 400 with exhaust, skids, tires, etc.... dajogejr
I think the new Honda 450 comes with electric start AND reverse as an option. I know ES, not 100% on reverse... Ok...had to look on Honda's site. Electric start, check. NO reverse offered...my bad. Personally, on those 4 pokes, electric start is almost a must...they're a biatch to start with kick! But, I can live without reverse....just go faster...
bigboybanshee
But, I can live without reverse Me too, just gives me a reason to be creative when it's time to turn around  Coming from an owner of both a banshee and a yfz450, the 450 is much easier to ride in the trails but I think the banshee is more fun. The 450 definitely has a much better suspension out of the box, and is relatively fast with no mods. I rode a banshee in trails for years but after riding my friend's 450, I went out and bought one for the simple fact that it's much easier to ride and the power is there throughout the RPM's. Electric start is nice too

Samdogmx
i have both a yfz450 & a shee, IMO the banshee rocks if your gona be drag racing only, but anything else, riding trails, MX, XC the YFZ is better, its still not bad for drag racing either. 2004LEBanshee
My buddy and I Ride the hatfield trials in WV all the time. I have a shee and he has a 450. We switch all the time to ride. We both feel that the banshee is more comfortable. I dont know how anyone can say the 450 is a softer ride that makes no sense. That seat on the shee is a pillow. We both like the power on each quad but the shee is a little less usefull BUT that makes it more fun to ride and mess around on. Both climb hills real well, the shee never pops a wheelie because it is hard to get traction but easy to keep in the power just need a flick of the clutch and its there. However I notice it being easyer to make a tight turn and shoot a big hill on a 450 because of the traction. As for maintence there the same, the person who beats there crap does more work. Jumping is trickier on the shee but once learned you can do it well. But what I feel whats most important is the amount of fun you will get when you ride your quad. Here is something to think about all my 4 stroke friends constantly want to ride the shee every time we stop someone asks. Personally I never ask to get on the 450's or 660's. They just dont excite me the same yea a 450 is fast but its still a smooth reving 4 stroke. Great quad but not as thrilling for me. I like the sudden loss of controll. Its what ever you like just dont think you ride trails and hills a banshee cant do it. the only people who say that dont own a banshee.
