16mm Stroker question

Just a quick question....

I just ordered a 16mill cheetah kit for my shee and I was wandering if any of you have the same engine? I wanted to know if any of you felt it was enough power and how reliable it is. Redline Racing in Oregon is doing the engine and I've heard their pretty good. Any info about this engine would be appreciated.

Thanks :thanks:

I've never heard a bad thing said about Cameron at Redline....he knows his stuff for sure.

If I'm not mistaken, Cam knows Dave Moore as well, who's been doing this stuff longer than most of us have been around....

Yeah, 16mil is a monster motor...all kinds of torque. He'll get you setup no doubt....hang on to that thing!!

Thanks for the reply!

I keep hearing that Cameron is really reliable, so that's good to hear. I know that the bike is undergoing an extensive group of mods. I decided to go with out of frame pipes, long travel suspension, 8-10" over ladder swing arms and any other odds and inns that Cameron recomends. I hope it turns out to be a unique bike to ride.

I think that my 250x is starting to feel left out... Oh well... Maybe she'll get a street bike motor someday.

That's the same setup he runs in his drag bike, so I'm sure he's got lots of tuning advice as well. Hope you're not use to the 250X power, because you're gonna have a real beast of a motor in that banshee.

Good luck with it

Thanks everyone for your replies! Yeah, I'm really excited. It sounds like a good choice to go through Cameron. As far as cost, it looks like were going to hit just under the $30,000.00 marker for the grand total. I know it's a chunk of change however I've been riding that 250X since 1991 when I bought it, and now...it's time for a big change.

My cousin has a Banshee (about 65 hp) that he has rode scince 89' and I used to try and keep up with him and his friends on their long rides through the flats. Me and the pore ole' 250X would always get left behind. So just recently I have been riding the Banshee I have as it sets, getting used to the power and practicing. So soon, we will see if I'm still going to be left behind. I hope not...

:thanks: again everyone for your replies!

What the hell are you getting for 30k, your getting a chassis and everything correct?????????? I hope you arent planning on using this as a play bike. seems like a bs thread to me.

 Well first off, understand that I am not getting anything for a "good" low price. I'm paying for everything close to retail because unlike a few of other people with special ties, I don't know too many people in this field. The money adds up when you buy the bike, build the engine, customize the suspension, customize airbrushing, carbon fiber kits, and whatever billet, chrome, powdercoated, etc... you want installed. I don't really care about getting the best deal. If it's a goal and you got the means, then do it!

I haven't decided to enter it in competition yet, but I'm sure that option will be available when the time comes. Sorry this thread seems like a bs thread to you because it sure as hell does not feel like bs thread to me. I wouldn't be wasting my time if it was. :thanks:

Once you add a killer motor like that, proper suspension setup, and a LOT of Chrome the 30K realm is not unheard of by any means. get your money out of it, though...'cause when it's time to tell it you'll get about half that.

Don't get me wrong, good for you...if you got the coin to spend, by all means, do it!!!

Don't even think any of those guys will be even close to seeing you again...

However...as said, this isn't going to be a play bike. NOT Even close.

It'll be drag and dunes only.

You'd be crazy to go sloshing through mud, dirt and water with all the Chrome and Bling Cam's going to put on it.

It hurst to think about how much I've put into mine....and I know the only way I'm getting my money out of it is to ride the piss out of it whenever I possibly can!!

You're doing what's right for you....damn good for you.

Post up some pics and ride reports when it's done....you'll be grinning ear to ear for quite some time.

(Oh...and a golden rule of thumb. Don't let your buddies ride it unless they can afford to buy it...)

My point was I hope you arent planning on using the stock chassis for that, it will be hard to keep down reguardless of the swinger you have. Are you doing this to the new bike in your sig? it would have been cheaper to start from scratch.

it does sound crazy if hes doing this new setup to the banshee on his sig.however i dont think redline would mis guide anybody,do to there reputation alone.besides 30k should get him everything he needs, iam talking obout chassis, motor ,and bling.

I see what you're saying.

Here's the deal. I went in to buy the bike in my sig. At that time, I did not quite have the money squared away, but I did have a bit. So I had the factory put in all the mods listed in my sig just to have fun with untill I had the main finances available. Around the same time I bought my bike, a good friend of mine bought an 06' shee as well. We figured that as soon as I get ready for the overhaul, I would sell him all the useless aftermarket parts that I already had on my bike to him for a major discount. So yes, you could say that I did waste some money on the few aftermarket parts but a couple grand out was not going to make that big a difference. So I thought why not?

Me, Cameron, and my friend who is setting all of this up, are getting together to plot the entire installation out. Cameron has said that my body weight is too much for the tranny if I were to go to any bigger block at all. So I think that the 16mill is the end of the line for reliability for my weight. Cameron has already started to piece the engine together. I'm currently awaiting his word. Could be a while. I hope to have the bike done around summertime of next year. I will most certainly post many pics up when I get the chance.
