hey guys. so i just joined up the site not even a week ago since i got my new banshee project and ive already absorbed as much as my little hampster powered head will manage. ive seen posts on just about every mod and settings i would like to do to the bike but id like to get your guys' take on it and see what you guys think. ive sorted through some options yet some are to be decided and thats where i need the advice.

top end kit- vito's forged piston kit

head- noss head with 20cc domes

ports- yet to be decided...open em up a bit, not too wild but still researching pictures of evryone else's jobs.

carb set up- trinity 2-1 35mm PWK

reeds- yet to be decided

pipes- FMF fatty's

timing- advance key +4*

clutch- yet to be decided

so what do you guys think so far??? this bike is mainly gonna be aimed twards racing my buddies at the hill and such. (sand dunes by the way) also, who's rebuild kit or top end kit would you guys recommend. Vito's or the Wiseco kits seem to be the reliable options to me but im not sure??

Allright this is my opinion. As for the pistons ive always had good luck with wiseco.Noss makes a real good head but im switching to a modquad because of the one piece desighn, Ill sell my noss if you want it.The ports depends alot on riding style. Carb setup dual 33pwks. Reeds vforce. Pipes get you a set of cpis they will be everything thee fattys are and much more. Dont mess with the key just get a adustable plate from rickystator. As far as thee noss head its a good product and david is a great guy to deal with the design is a pain in the ass in my opinion to take on and off.Ill let mine go for 145 without the domes.

I got my cyl's ported by Jeff @ F.A.S.T. Racing(dune/play) and they have great all around power.. He also has several of the items you are looking for and is competative with pricing.. I would give him a call and tell him what your wanting out of the bike.. He can get it there

heres a good setup for a 350 that runs awesome for the dunes and has all around killer power for play racing up hills :

vforce delta reeds

milled head (if your gonna only run 20cc domes might aswell just mill the OEM head IMO )

dune porting by a reputable builder

lightend flywheel

advanced ignition timing +5 degrees

toomey T5 pipes

K&n clamp on filters

do these mods^ and youll be pulling wheelys in 4th UP hills in the dunes

Yep...get a timing plate instead of the key. A key SHOULD never shear off, but...there is that posibilty...

The biggest seller of a timing plate to me is...it's adjustable, and you don't have to remove the flywheel to adjust it once it's in place.

4 might be good now...but, what if you want to go to 6 or 8 or 10 later? No biggie, open end 10mm wrench, loosen, adjust...and away you go.

I agree...can't go wrong with Wiseco ProLites.

Shearer/CPI/Rockets/GRR pipes are all top end orientated drag pipes....

If you plan on getting some aggressive porting and stay 1/2 throttle or more most of the time, they'd be a fine choice.

If not, Fatties, T5s or Trinitys are fine all around dune pipe choices....

And...I agree with Rocket about the other things...lightened flywheel and a little more compression (milled head) won't hurt, either....

you guys are awsome! this is giving me a better idea on what i should go with. the fatty pipes are already in the mail as well as the 2 into 1 carb. the carb i wanted for simplicity yet still big enough to deliver the fuel for the power.

pipes, i have the set that came with the bike.... according to the original owner of the bike, they were the best pipes money could buy at the time they were bought. they are called coffman pipes. expansion chambers are a real smooth expansion and never seen anything like em, (ill shoot some shots of em tomorrow and see what you guys think)

ill follow the advice on the timing plate and see who has a good deal on em. as for the head... how much would you guys suggest to mill off? ive read on other posts that around .20 to .30 thou is what i should go for? ill do the vforce reeds, porting i have a buddy's bike that had the dunes porting done and ill just take a good look at his and do it by hand. (trying to keep it as low buck as possible and my buddy has the shop and tools for anything i wanna do) ill stick to wiseco pistons as you guys said, tho who should i get em from?? are prolites a diffrent type of wiseco piston? i cant say ive heard of em. ill look into the barnett clutch set up. i dont think the bike needs it but since im there i may as well.

thanks for your help guys, i really appreciate it.

Glad to hear things are coming together and your stoked, but... Unless you have some pretty good knowledge on porting than I wouldn't do it yourself. The way the cyl's are ported can totaly change not only how much power they put out but also how the power comes on. I would REALLY research porting before attempting to do it yourself and thats IF your buddy really has all the tools needed(more than you think).. I would just hate to see you get all these new mods and them not work as well due to not having a port job to compliment them.. Just my .02

I agree with Rippen, Take it slow and reserch out the porting. The rule of thumb is that you port to the pipe. Kind of like with stock to mild porting the Fatteys or Toomys work. For drag porting you better get Grand River Racing, CPI, Rocket's etc.

Don't get me wrong I am all for doing the porting yourself. But you can totally screw up the thing going to far in one place or a nother.

So Google Sportsport and read what they say and look at their stuff. Is not a bad start for a beginer.

Well good luck

Most of the mods you wanted to do or have done already are in my signature, your bike will be really similar to mine other than me having a gytr cdi instead of a timing plate. As far as porting goes, I did my own too with some porting templates from racelogic and it was easy and also works great for my style. The templates are in great shape and have instructions, if you're interested I'll let them go for $30 shipped if you decide to go that route.

yea, i do want to research the porting options and styles. im not about to go head first into the porting frenzy. im still considering taking the cylinders out to someone with experience tho.

i know i wont be disappointed in the results. chances are very high the bike will be alot better then it ever was so thats cool. i also researched a bunch of the bikes that people have on here, seeing what most people have and what they do (woods, dunes or drag riding) so i have an idea of what stuff works for the type of riding. ill let you guys know whats up and ask for your opinions as i go along. chances are alot of people have been where ive been and can chime in on the situation.
