In addition to the caps you have to drill and tap new idle screws in each carb. Right now the knob on the TORS is how you adjust your idle. Thats why the kit is so expensive it comes with caps, adjusters, drill bit, tap, idle screws, and springs. In response to your question, I don't know of a twist throtle kit that doasn't require removal of the TORS.

checkout this post on forsale.. he has a pict of carbs with caps and cable... see if he will sell you the setup...

caps

also i just thought about this... when you buy a full twist throttle kit at least from Motion pro they come with caps and cables and everything you need... so all you got to do it the tapping like he said for your idle screws.

NIce post.... You can TEMPORARILY use the throttle cable adjustments on the new carb caps to set the idle, but....you're asking for problems if you do. Turning can cause the R's to rise, and you may never get a steady set idle from both carbs. You really need the brass screws to do that, and keep a tad bit of slack in the cable....

I think I still have a brand new (2 or 3 rides on it) twist throttle in my garage. I know I took pics of it to send off, but I don't remember if the guy actually bought it or not. It's a Motion Pro CR style twist.

Yes, you'd still need the cable, tops, drill, tap and brass screws...

Check out Vito's Performance....they sell parts individually....

I"m not sure where you're getting 80 just for the carb caps. For 60, you get EVERYTHING here, except a twist throttle...(and, if you do go twist, you'll need a different cable)

Wow I WAS going to buy a twist throttle cause Ive been useing them most of my life but there is no way now. I have to get more used to working on the shee before I go out and start buying more components. I just got my noss coolhead and 20cc domes and Im timid about putting them in.

I am still not sure about my twist throttle- I started off hating it- It kicked my ass- litterally- I ended up launching my quad in the air off my fence after dragging my ass on the ground on an unintentiional 30 foot 12-oclock grab bar dragger- trashed everything on my front end right side, plus i was covered in road rash-

You use your bars to throw a quad where you you use legs to throw a bike- I am going to finish this season with it then probably trade it to someone for there stocker or go for a 400ex throttle- lighter push-

just my .02,

that head is crazy ez to put on! only thing you got to do is make sure the orings dont get off the tracks when you put it together.. just get some assembly grease and put on the parts and the o rings will stick to it...

I've actually found a thin coat of hi temp RTV works better....especially sealing the coolant...

The neck on the back of the head leaked on mine out of the box, so....I'd remove that and seal that Oring too....

I have has 4 of those heads and they all leaked on the back neck.Nothing major, but it is a good idea to put a little sealer on the oring and the threads.mine all would leak around the threads and the oring.Like I said though nothing major.I have run alot of different cool heads and like the noss by far the best. You know what...it isnt only the noss heads and domes but I think everything he has is top notch.
