akita8
IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE TORS INSTALLED, REMOVE THE AIR FILTERS OR AIR FILTER BOOTS. ONCE YOU HAVE THE BOOTS OFF OPERATE THE THROTTLE AND MAKE SURE THAT THE SLIDES RAISE UP AT THE SAME TIME. IF THE SLIDES DON'T MOVE AT THE SAME TIME YOU ADJUST THEM WITH THE ADJUSTER ON THE CARB CAP. Penny's Banshee
ok so I adjusted the sliders they were just a little off but it still did not fix my problem. im running out of ideas
akita8
If you don't have the TORS any more you should have adjustment screws on the carbs for the idle. You can try backing these out till they are not contacting the slides and then bring them in EVENLY until you get a good idle speed and then check your slides again for adjustment. I'm assuming that the left pipe is only cold while your idling and when you rev it up it's OK. With mine the left cylinder was getting too much gas while idling and you could see wetness around the exit area of the spark arrestor. If the above adjustments don't work, inspect the left needle and make sure its not bent.
Penny's Banshee
I have played with the idle screw and nothing happened and today when I adjusted the slider the needle looked fine. im not getting spark to my left cylinder at all. the left cylinder is not heating up the fuel that is getting into it is not burning up and is being spit out of my tailpipe. i just bought toomey pipes and I want to get this problem solved before I put them on my bike. Its getting really frustrating could the piston be getting stuck and not moving fuel into the chamber therefore no combustion in the cylinder? that is the only thing I can think of. I want to try the easiest thing before I take my head off

The reason I ask is because you said when you switched the plug wires it was still the left side not firing. So the plug wire that was on the left must have had spark. Then in your last post you said the left had no spark at all. I think you need to determine if you do have spark at both plug caps. If so, Then you should clean your carbs and check your reed on that side. once that is elliminated you may want to do a leakdown test to see if you leaking air. dajogejr
I was thinking the same....possibly dirty or clogged needle and seat, flooding that cylinder to where it can't fire....
Penny's Banshee
how do I perform a leakdown test?
NoidBoy
Penny, I just had the exact same problem with mine a couple of days ago. Mine was the Reed, Valve Quick test is take off the carb for the left hand side reach inside and make sure all 4 covers of the reed valves are still there. If you have a mirror and flash light, you can slide the mirror so you can see down the intake and use the light on the mirror and you can see it. Becareful if you have to take the allen head screws out because I busted my nuckles on two of them and ended up stripping out the head of one, but we are all back together and running great. I am not sure what causes them to break a friend of mine said it could have been a backfire or soemthing but I am not sure about that I think maybe it just wore out or something. Let me know if this helps. Thanks TLF ::
my_rocz
before you keep blaming fuel issues... do you have spark- I saw it asked repeatedly, but never answered- unscrew the plug from the head, hook it to the wire and ground it to the case, do you see spark, if not grab ahold of it, do you feel spark, this makes it hard to miss- if you have good spark then blame fuel, if not work backwards, wire, coil, etc... mine wasnt firing on 1 cylinder one day so i grabbed the plug wire while it was running, told me pretty quick that the wire had come apart- Harbor Frieght( i am sure other places have them) has a tool you plug inline with your plug- the bulb lights if you are getting spark- pretty simple but its easy to do-
Penny's Banshee
I do have spark to both sides if you read carefully I explained that when I said I switched the spark plugs and put them in the different cylinders and then I switched the coil wires going to each plug both coils caps have spark

It was that statment that made me think maybe it was still a spark issue.
