left pipes not heating up when running

Recommended Posts

When I start up my shee the right side pipes get warm like usual but my left side is cold as can be. i need help. its spitting out oil out of the tail pipe as well in need of urgent help

Here's a list:

Change plugs

Unplug TORS

Check choke tube

Unplug parking brake

Swap plug wires left to right

Clean carbs thoroughly

Check Compression in both cylinders

Check for air leaks

Check these things in that order until you find the problem. Good luck.

I do not have TORS and I am getting fire. I took out both spark plugs and the side the pipes are not warming up the spark plug looked brand new. There is a combustion problem or something I swithed plugs and still its not working on the left side so I switched the coil over to the other plug and still nothing

When you switched coil leads, did the other side get spark?

I think you bought my stock cylinder head, Penny....

What all did you do when you tore this motor down? Just a fresh top end, did you get into splitting the cases? Have you done a leak down and/or a compression test on this build?

What all did you do to unplug the TORS...and has it ever run fine since you unplugged the TORS?

I have not taken the motor apart I have not done anything to it its a 03' the compression is pretty good on both sides I just did a compression check and its in the low 120's on both so its good. The left cylinder for some reason is not getting any spark what so ever I didnt buy your stock head the motor I bought came complete. its weird it is starting up on the first kick everytime. the left cylinder is just not firing

I bought a coil from you and no I bought a new coil I thought the coil that I bought from you was bad but it wasnt I bought a new one thinking it was and put it on my bike and the spark problem I was having before I bought that from you was due to a bad ground. You mention I bought a head from you but I bought the coil not the head.

But back to the problem could it be a valve problem ?

Aha... Nope, someone else bought the head....sorry.

Ok...the coil worked last time I tried...but, it was a while ago...and...it is used.

Just wanted to be sure...for you.

I can't see it being a reed not causing it to fire. If you pull the plugs out, and ground them against the head, can you see a blue spark fire across the ground/electrode?

not suggesting its a reed causing no fire but maybe its firing and its drowning the plug with gas or maybe it is'nt getting gas to that cylinder.
